Texas 4-star target to decide in March One of the top defensive targets for the Texas Longhorns in the 2026 cycle plans to announce his decision this spring. Houston (Texas) Mayde Creek 4-star+ linebacker Kosi Okpala told OnTexasFootball Monday afternoon that he is eyeing a decision in March, or possibly April. Just a quick note on portal DL: 1. Peter Woods announced yesterday that he is returning to Clemson next season. Woods is someone Texas and everyone else in college football would have had interest in had he opted to enter the portal. 2. Nua Tanavasu of Utah and Toby Onyedim of Iowa State are two DLs of note to watch. 3. Portal prospects can not begin taking official visits again until Jan. 1. 4. There are discussions being had behind the scenes at this point. We’ll see where any of them go from here. But right now, there is nothing definitive that I have been made aware of.

Texas WR Isaiah Bond is back on the practice field and was running routes for the Longhorns during routes on air during Friday's practice session in Austin. A few nuggets I wanted to pass along both from the defensive player media availability on Monday, as well as from the practice field. *** – Starting with WR Isaiah Bond who was back on the practice field running routes with the team Friday afternoon. I was told the speedster could have gone against Clemson if absolutely needed. Texas leads for out of state 4-star The Texas Longhorns have made 2026 4-star+ Dylan Berymon (Monroe, La./Ouachita Baptist) defensive lineman a priority since June. The football gods smiled on Longhorn fans yesterday (and very early this morning!). Oklahoma and Texas A&M both lost their games with less than 10 seconds left on the clock. For the Sooners, the loss to Navy is all too painful. Surely even a back-up quarterback would beat a Navy squad replete with what are essentially walk-ons? But the Sooners couldn’t even muster that. Texas is definitely in play for the brother tandem Zachariah and Zion Branch, formerly of USC. Zachariah is a highly ranked wide receiver who is an absolute jet. The team will be back on the practice field today. Most players returned to Austin yesterday afternoon/evening with a few set to return this morning. We are still monitoring the injuries of wide receiver Isaiah Bond and offensive tackle Cameron Williams. Bond did not practice on Monday following the Clemson game. Williams returned to the field but it was a light workout. Texas signees playing in the Navy and Under Armour All-America Games Nine members of the Texas Longhorns No. 1 ranked recruiting class are on the rosters for the All-American Games being played in the tqwo and half weeks. Up first will be the Under Armour Next All-America Game in Orlando with practices at Disney Wide World of Sports with the game televised on ESPN with five Texas signees on the roster. One of the more intriguing storylines in this Texas-Arizona State Peach Bowl matchup is the group of Sun Devils set to face off against their former Longhorn teammates. Best Class Scenario: First for 2026! The Texas Longhorns will be picked to sign a fifth straight top 5 level class in the 2026 cycle. Three of those players have committed to Texas - Purdue DL Cole Brevard, Arkansas LB Brad Spence and Utah P Jack Bouwmeester.
