One of the few 2026 prospects on campus over the weekend added to his scrap book of Texas visits. 2026 Mission Hills (CA) QB Troy Huhn returned to Austin for yet another visit, his first since the Kansas State game in early November. Huhn originally got on the Texas radar with a visit in June for the elite camp. The talented quarterback got his first look at campus – aside from just driving through it, on his trip Saturday. Of course, being able to catch the scrimmage and sit in for a meeting with the quarterbacks ahead of time were a highlight as well. But Texas was able to show off more about the campus on this trip than they had previously. "Really just…

- The scrimmage on Saturday featured a lot of 1s vs 1s and 2s vs 2s. But it also featured a lot of rotation between the groups, especially on offense. In other words, there was some switching of offensive personnel based on formation, play-call, down-and-distance, etc. - This was the biggest hitting scrimmage so far of spring camp. - Quinn Ewers not only hit on a couple of nice medium range throws, he was also "efficient" running the offense. - Arch Manning ran with the second team and did really well, particularly in the red zone. Manning also completed a long toss to Amari Niblack for a TD. - Niblack continues to move up the depth chart and is now fi…

One of the biggest out of state visitors during over the weekend left Austin with high regards for the Longhorns and the staff following his trip on Saturday. 2025 Mandarin (FL) wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is a composite five-star wide receiver who made his first visit to Austin Saturday to catch the first scrimmage of the spring and catch up with the Texas coaching staff. "I definitely loved the vibe," Ffrench told OTF following his visit. "The people in the building (were great). I am going to have to continue to come out." Ffrench locked in an official visit to Texas while on his unofficial as well, which will be hosted June 21-23. A return this summer w…

Monday afternoon recruiting nuggets The recruiting trail continues to be hot with spring games around the country getting into full swing this weekend. That means a number of Texas targets will be on campuses, especially east across the Texas state line. Texas vs. LSU for defensive linemen Texas hosted 4-star commitment Brandon Brown (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie) and 4-star top target Zion Williams (Lufkin, Texas/High) in the last couple of weeks. And the Longhorns headlined by first true meeting with Kenny Baker received very favorable returns. Now it's LSU's chance. Brown, 6-1.5 and 285 pounds, is likely to attend the LSU spring game April 13, and Williams…

Monday update on 5-star WR Dakorien Moore The headliner of a loaded visit weekend at Texas April 5-6 was Duncanville (Texas) High 5-star wide receiver and LSU commit Dakorien Moore. Moore made the trip from Dallas to Austin with his mom, who is from Austin. There were a number of family members that took part in the visit that live in the Austin area, including two of Dakorien's uncles. Some notes from Moore's visit 1. Watching Texas in the practice setting was very key. That's the first time he truly got go through the practice process from position meeting room to practice to post practice. Adding to the list of unofficial visitors on Thursday will be 2027 Bastrop QB Weston Nielsen. The 2027 cycle is a ways away, but the Longhorns are continuing to monitor their backyard with Nielsen. During the Elite 11 in late April, Nielsen told me he was planning on camping with the Longhorns June 1 for their Elite Camp. Steve Sarkisian stopped by Bastrop for his first stop of the contact window in January and QB coach AJ Milwee stopped by to watch Nielsen throw in offseason workouts in early February. Both are expected to return in May to watch spring ball. I won't necessarily put the Cade Klubnik comp on Nielsen, but there are aspects of his game that re…
