I will be updating this thread throughout the next few weeks with obscure but true Texas vs. Texas A&M facts. Feel free to pitch in Fact #1: In the first seven games of the rivalry, Texas kept the Aggies scoreless while scoring 157 unanswered points. A&M reached 157 points during their 32nd meeting

I’m seeing everyone getting pissed about the average length of target Saturday, and I like to refer to them as non-ball knowers. Did you not watch the Georgia game and see that every attempted deep shot ended in a sack fumble for both of our QB’s. This needed to be a quick release, 17 completions in a row, rhythm game for Quinn and it was.

A quick update to the 2024 redshirt tracker for the freshman class. – DB Jordon Johnson-Rubell saw four snaps on special teams and his redshirt was burned as a result this weekend. – No other surprises at the moment. – The official stat sheet had Jordan Washington having played in this game but accredited him with a QB Hurry. I am checking on this now, but after a rewatch, I did not see No. 84 on the field on Saturday, preserving his redshirt status.

I know hundreds of you guys have seen games at the Jones in Lubbock. So I’ve got a question. my sons a giant Travis hunter fan. So I’m surprising him with tickets to the CU & TTU game next weekend. Do any of you guys recall a stadium entrance where you could watch the away team enter the stadium, from our trips down to Lubbock? thank you!

Texas DB Michael Taaffe has been named the Burlsworth Walk-On of the Week. Taaffe was also named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Vanderbilt where he racked up an interception, forced fumble and pass breakup in the end zone. Quite the weekend for Taaffe who has continued to shine as one of the Longhorns most important defensive players this season.

Is the starting CB duo the best since Holton Hill and Kris Boyd? Curtis Brown and Aaron Williams? Ced Griffin and Aaron Ross? I’m not sure, but they have been absolutely stellar this year. I haven’t seen Texas have two lockdown corners like this in years.

Our schedule is obviously relatively light this year (except UGA and TAMU). Set us up nicely to win, but potentially sets us up poorly if we finish with 2 losses (particularly if the second loss is TAMU). If we lose to TAMU, we’ll have beaten no team that has a shot at a final Top25 finish. If we lose to Florida, Ark or UK, that will be one of the worst losses of any 2 loss team in the country (if not THE worst).

Making contact to the QB’s facemask with your hand while trying to tip a pass needs to not be a penalty. That is just so ticky tac and soft. Sure, if it’s late as hell, then flag it like any contact. But if it’s bang-bang, let it go. There is a line to cross in terms player protection and maintaining football as a contact sport. No one is gonna get a concussion from an open hand to the facemask. 🤦♂️
