I came across some team nuggets that were worth sharing ahead of the trip to Nashville for the Texas-Vanderbilt game this weekend. *** On the topic of the offensive line, there was some concern from Longhorn Nation, myself included, following the Georgia game. Rarely under the Steve Sarkisian/Kyle Flood era had pressure been that consistent in a game. There remains a high level of confidence for the Texas OL unit. The Georgia game allowed for the group to refocus on technique and communication during the week of practice ahead of Vanderbilt. Inside the building, the belief is the OL is still considered a strength of the team and there will be a driven effor…

If you want to get an almost All-22 breakdown of the Texas-Georgia game from the Texas offensive struggles, this is the video for you. There are some Carson Beck clips in it as well, if you want, just skip around those to the Ewers breakdown. What you will see is a great defensive scheme from Kirby Smart and tight coverage from UGA. A lot of show four, play three coverages and cover 2 man. Georgia rarely did not have two deep safeties on a presnap look, but did a great job of mixing coverages. Anyways, give it a watch for a different non-TV angle of the game.

This morning on C&F, You said he gave up one sack, which wasn’t his fault, so his draft grade would not be impacted by that. Not sure on his draft grade but the man Banks was responsible for sacked Quinn 3 times. The one Quinn didn’t step up in to the pocket that you referenced. One where he did step up and kind of stepped in to Banks man. And a 3rd where Mykel Williams got the strip sack in the 4th quarter. I said it Monday, and maybe I’m wrong, but the focused energy on Quinn’s poor performance isn’t entirely fair. Banks, 3 sacks. Wisners drop. Robersons hold(s). On and on. Quinn did not play great, but crosshairs on him isn’t entirely fair. …

I’ve said for a couple of weeks now that the Horns will use football to their advantage all season long. This weekend was no different. Texas hosted SEVEN kids this weekend, including some top out of state talent. We’ve seen it already pay off when they landed Georgia infielder Reiston Durham. Perfect Game graded Durham a 9 (out of 10), which means they feel like he has the talent to be a top 10 round pick in the MLB Draft and/or a major contributor at the collegiate level. That’s the only commitment the Longhorns have landed publicly. Behind the scenes, however, I can promise you that Schloss and his staff hit a grand slam this weekend. Things wen…

Update on 5-star You guys and gals have asked a few times about 5-star OT and Oklahoma commit Michael Fasusi. There had not been any contact with Texas as of late last week. OTF is hearing that is no longer the case. Nothing serious, but there has now been light communication. We shall see if it goes anywhere with Texas. To be clear, Texas isn’t the only school that has been attempting to engage with the Sooners verbal.

Although CJ Sampson chose Florida, his Tomball teammate Karson Reeder just committed to Texas! Both are high level right handed pitchers who helped Tomball to the UIL 6A State Title. Reeder has a nice 4 pitch mix, FB up to 90mph, and was named the championship game MVP as a sophomore.

Amen , I’ve been a fan for 60 years. These boys go through a lot to play this game. A lot of Dailey pounding on the practice field, injuries plus a lot of the same during the games , and still they still play hard , they played injured. Why ? Well it’s not because so called fans can sit there and criticise them for not for making this play, or that one , or even not winning ! They do it for the Love of the game ! These are young men. They deserve your respect , Not your Criticism! ( QUESTION ) Do you Chastise & Criticise your child at home ? Next time you do , Take a look at their Face and see how much that hurts !!!

Expect to see much more 12 personnel. The multiple tight end look was tremendous for the Longhorns on Saturday night against the Georgia defense, one of the few bright spots on offense from the entire evening. I charted the snaps Texas had on Saturday with both Gunnar Helm and Juan Davis on the field and it looked rather encouraging. *** A few key takeaways: First let's get these numbers squared away. I counted 24 snaps with the Longhorns in 12P, those plays went for 145 yards, and when you add in penalties drawn on those plays, 168 net yards. The Longhorns in total had 80 total snaps on offense against UGA. Texas was in 12P for 30.0% of thei…

It's been the topic of the last 12 hours or so since the conclusion of the Texas-Georgia game. The Georgia defense dominated all evening with 28 total pressures on the quarterback – the most pressures allowed under Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkisian. Now, Quinn Ewers was not good. But the offensive line did nothing to help the cause. Even with Arch Manning coming into the game, there was consistent pressure on the quarterback. A few clips in pass protection that were essentially the story of the day for Texas.

I know Gerry and others mentioned that recruits look at the game in a different perspective than us fans and they look at the entire package but based on this I fear we may have lost this recruitment or may have let Georgia gain an edge on us that may have not been there prior to the game on this particular recruitment.

Horns go to Nashville and come back with a W. A shaky W. 2 more QB turnovers, a OL that has a point to prove, opens running lanes to the degree that the running game cements a Horns W. I think we will see Sark take advantage of the next 2 weeks to implement the new Arch Manning offense. Sucks for QE, but it is what it is. Too many injuries that seem to degrade his performance. I think Sark is going to get proactive and make this change effective for the Florida game. Don't overestimate Vanderbilt. Georgia will be hard pressed to duplicate their effort from last week, as the season moves on. If LSU can tag the ags this weekend, things will be back to lookin…

https://www.instagram.com/p/DBchUlBy-5v/?igsh=cDg2MHN0azAxd2Yy Jamaal Charles says Bijan was offered $5 million to stay at Texas. Can anybody confirm? Obviously he got more than that with his contract with Atlanta but just imagine Bijan on the 2023 team.

A quick update to the 2024 Fr. redshirt tracker. Not many changes since the bye week. The next snap for Jordon Johnson-Rubell will burn his redshirt, but that is to be expected. Xavier Filsaime saw time on the field per the Texas Sports official tracker. TE Jordan Washington will burn his redshirt the next snap he sees as well.

This has been talked about plenty, but let's be real, Sark is watching 👀 how Quinn Ewers does in the 1st half period! Sark is giving Quinn every opportunity to lead the team. Quinn definitely needs the running game to take off this week as well early on. Sark benched him the first time Saturday. The second time, will be no return for Quinn.

After a second watch of the game nearly every big play, sack, strip sack, or pressure came because the Georgia front stemmed fractions of a second before the snap not allowing Jake Majors to make the proper calls or had a rusher time the snap up perfectly. Something about the Texas snap count is too predictable and it cost us a lot Saturday
