Our track coach was also the defensive line coach, and he warned us, make fun of his name all you want but you're going to have to tackle him next year. I am hoping Sark can get J Gib significant work tomorrow. Having trust in a back that’s more of a load will be helpful down the road when protecting leads and facing lighter fronts like A&M. This OL hasn’t been great at straight ahead run blocking but I think they can be more than adequate with a bigger back versus smaller or worn down fronts.

Tramon Mark Injury Update Texas transfer guard Tramon Mark is expected to be out at until the Longhorns play in New York November 21 due to an ankle injury suffered prior to the Colorado closed door scrimmage October 26. That would mean the 6-5 guard would miss the next three games vs. Houston Christian, Chicago State and Mississippi Valley State. Mark missed the Longhorns season opener, an 80-72 loss to Ohio State in Las Vegas.

Texas will host 2026 DL prospect Bryce Perry-Wright again this weekend for the Florida game. The talented defensive lineman out of Buford, GA was on campus in April for a spring practice and makes his return for a game for the first time this season. Texas has done a tremendous job of creating a foothold in Georgia, and the visit is another reminder of the work being put in by the staff and Kenny Baker. Perry-Wright currently holds 39 offers and is considered a top-50 national player in 2026 by the 247Sports Composite.
