New Texas DB Coaches in Contact with 2026 ATH Jalen Lott Quick little trip over to McKinney North for a Friday afternoon track meet while up in DFW this weekend. The focal point was to catch up with 2026 Panther Creek ATH Jalen Lott who was competing in the long and high jump during the meet. Lott will wrap up his competition and board a flight to Eugene to visit the Oregon Ducks this weekend. Following then, Lott's spring break will be spent on visits to Ohio State and Georgia – both of which will be his first time to each campus. Texas wide receiver Ryan Wingo underwent LASIK surgery on his right eye last week and also underwent another procedure designed to help a scratch in his left eye. It's believed that the sight issue became evident in practice midway through his freshman season. The sophomore-to-be expects a full recovery and he should have 20-15 vision in his right eye moving forward. It's thought that the procedure should help him with 50-50 balls this season. I know there were some sick souls out there hoping Texas might lose yesterday in order to expedite the firing of men’s basketball coach Rodney Terry. All I’d say is this… There are few things sweeter in life than beating A&M. Very few. And yesterday, in the face of such a disappointing season overall, was particularly so. I still can’t believe Texas might make it into the NCAA with a 6-12 regular season conference record. I know people talk about Quad I wins. Texas defensive line coach and staff members were by Mater Dei High in January to see the 6-foot-3, 320-pounder and are working to make up ground on one of the nation's top defensive lineman. Latest on Peach State 5-star OnTexasFootball spoke with a person in the circle of Grayson High (Loganville, Ga.) 5-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson Monday night. Atkinson, 6-foot-2 and 210-pounds, visited Clemson and Georgia in the last three days. Both will be in the recruitment until the very end. In Steve Sarkisian’s meeting with the media yesterday, the Texas coach detailed much of his new staff. Sark talked at length about new corners coach Mark Orphey and new edge coach LaAllen Clark, as well as running backs coach Chad Scott. On the whole, I felt like Sark seemed very pleased with how the additions played out given the coaching turnover. Sark gave a nod to the new NCAA rules that allow for more coaches on the field and AD Chris Del Conte for providing the funds to make it happen. Out of state 4-star++ visitor on campus Clearwater (Fla.) High 4-star++ right tackle Samuel Roseborough is in Austin visiting his mom for spring break, and has been on campus today. The 6-foot-5, 275-pound ultra athletic tackle is also expected on campus tomorrow to watch the team workouts as part of a two day unofficial visit. After dropping their opener against Louisville in extra innings, Texas Baseball has been on a roll and is now 10-1 on the season. The Longhorns are set to host Santa Clara this weekend, but there's been a major change in the lineup. As I reported yesterday, true freshman LHP Dylan Volantis was expected to be the Sunday starter going forward, taking over duties for Kade Bing. Texas made that official yesterday afternoon. Texas up to 38 OV's The Texas Longhorns are up to 38 official visitors locked in for June with 4-star++ cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) in for June 13-15th. The younger brother of NFL star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will also be on campus for unofficial visit in late April. That will be his first trip to Texas.
