The University of Texas has its 27th head coach in program history. Chris Del Conte has hired Sean Miller as the next coach of the Texas Longhorns. Our Gerry Hamilton has been all over the coaching search and quickly pointed towards Sean Miller being a possibility for the Longhorns and alas, the move has been made. Miller began his head coaching career at Xavier in the 2004-05 season. Texas has hired James Madison Assistant Special Teams Coach and Specialists Coach Matt Moran to the staff as a Special Teams Analyst. Moran spent 2024 at James Madison and 2023 at Boston College. Before then, Moran was the Assistant Special Teams Coordinator at Stanford from 2015–2022. Moran and new Texas defensive backs coach Duane Akina overlapped from 2015–2022 at Stanford.
