Norval McKenzie is a name to know in the Longhorns' RB Coach search. McKenzie is currently the running backs coach and run-game coordinator at Georgia Tech. Steve Sarkisian has made another hire to his program at Texas, but this time it’s an off the field addition. Errin Joe has been hired as the new Director of Scouting at The University of Texas, first reported by Matt Zenitz. Joe comes from Georgia Tech where he was previously a graduate assistant on the offensive line before eventually transitioning to Assistant Director of Player Personnel and General Manager of Georgia Tech Football. OnTexasFootball can confirm the move made by Steve Sarkisian to hire Rutgers CB Coach Mark Orphey to the Texas staff, first reported by OrangeBloods. Orphey has been the corners coach at Rutgers for the last three seasons, earning a raise in 2023. Previously at Montana State, Orphey coached four players to all-conference honors in the Big Sky Conference.
