Based on 10 mock drafts published within the last 10 days by ESPN.com, NFL.com and CBS Sports, the trio of offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., cornerback Jahdae Barron and wide receiver Matthew Golden will be among the first 32 players selected. Stanford defensive end David Bailey chose Texas Tech over Texas and others yesterday evening. We got a feel it might be headed in that direction earlier in the day. Tech allegedly made a significantly higher NIL offer. That’s unsurprising. Orchestrated largely by mega-booster Cody Campbell, Tech has been extraordinarily aggressive in the transfer portal. Campbell appears to be trying to leave no stone unturned prior to the House Settlement announcement next week. They will clearly have the most talented overall roster in the Big 12 next season. Just spoke with a source regarding Stanford edge David Bailey. I’m told this recruitment could end at literally any moment. That seems to be the hope of Texas Tech, who allegedly remains confident. I’m told UCLA is out entirely. So it’s down to Texas and Texas Tech. We’ll see which way Bailey decides to go and what the timing is.

A top five matchup takes place at the Disch this weekend, as No. 3 Texas hosts No. 4 Georgia beginning today (weather permitting). The Longhorns came out of last weekend's series banged up, with Rylan Galvan, Max Belyeu and Adrian Rodriguez all being injured. Here's the latest on all three. Longhorns to Receive Another Visit from 2027 Waxahachie DB Texas hosted 2027 Waxahachie DB JayQuan Snell for a visit over the weekend. Snell was able to catch a Texas spring practice and meet up with the brand new secondary coaching staff for the first time. The Longhorns offered Snell back in April of 2024, though there was a brief period where contact had gone a bit dry. With the new coaching staff, that contact picked back up and Snell returned to campus for the Longhorn City Limits event. Stanford edge prospect David Bailey began his visit to Texas yesterday. That visit concludes later today. Bailey already visited Texas Tech earlier this week. Among a host of other suitors, UCLA may also get an official visit. As we’ve mentioned previously, Texas views Bailey as an elite player. After all, he was the best player on the Stanford team in 2024. He recorded seven sacks even though opposing teams knew he was really the Cardinal’s only defensive threat much of the season. Sources have told OTF that tight end Jordan Washington will more than likely be out the remainder of the spring due to an injury that happened last week in practice. There are rumors that Washington's injury will require surgery, but I am told that is false. Washington is expected to compete for the starting tight end job that is wide open at this point. The Longhorns are expected to pursue a tight end in the portal, but that plan has been in place since the end of the season, regardless of this setback.

5-star basketball official visitor on campus OTF has learned that 5-star shooting guard Matthew Able (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Sagemont Prep) is currently on an official visit to Texas. The 6-foot-5.5 explosive guard was released from his letter of intent to Miami February 28. He has made recent official visits to Stanford and N.C. State. His timeline for recovery is about two weeks but the thought is Texas would rather let it fully heal than put undue pressure to return early. - Jordan Washington was dinged up over the weekend. A week and a half into the spring and there has been a major theme on display amongst the offensive side of the ball – youth. Young cats, and hungry dogs are filing in the huddle next to QB Arch Manning to begin the spring practice session. Since Sarkisian took over, this projected offense is the youngest and most inexperienced we have seen in Austin. Texas outfielder Max Belyeu is officially week-to-week with a thumb injury, the Longhorn baseball program announced Monday evening. Sources told On Texas Football that the injury (first reported by D1Baseball.com's Kendall Rogers) will require Belyeu, who is hitting .358 with six home runs and 22 RBI in 24 games as a junior, to undergo surgery.
