Bo Mascoe Commits to Texas *** Hook ‘Em! Texas and former Rutgers cornerback Bo Mascoe have reached an agreement out of the portal. Mascoe is an incoming senior who was an All-B1G Honorable Mention by the coaches and the media in 2025. Mascoe started all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights and recorded an interception, two forced fumbles and six pass defenses. Brown visited Indiana over the weekend, and Alabama is also expecting a mid-week visit. Cam Coleman, the no. 1 overall player in the transfer portal, returned to his home state of Alabama yesterday after back-to-back visits to Texas and Texas A&M. As of yesterday evening, Texas continues to have confidence. Coleman will still visit Texas Tech this week, although USC is now out of the picture. Add a tight end to the 2026 portal class! Texas has secured a signature from former Michigan State tight end Michael Masunas following his visit to campus on Monday. Masunas played the last three seasons with the Spartans in East Lansing, tallying over 500 career snaps. In 2025 specifically, Masunas recorded 391 snaps on the season. In the passing game, Masunas hauled in 19 passes for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns. At 6-foot-5-inches and 259 pounds, Masunas lined up almost exclusively as an in-line blocker in 2025. Some thoughts... - I like where Texas sits overall right now. - I think any suppositions on Cam Coleman or Jayden Woods are going to be misguided and/or premature. They'll both take multiple visits and go from there. - I think it's a positive sign that Arkansas DL Ian Geffrard came back a second day on his visit. - I think the two starting Michigan OLs - Andrew Sprague and Jake Guarena - would be excellent additions. - Texas seems to be attempting to shore up its kicking game in one weekend. A 380-pound BOOM! Arkansas nose tackle Ian Geffrard has committed to Texas following his two-day visit to Austin. Geffrard recorded 463 snaps for the Razorbacks in 2025, and recorded 18 tackles and 8 pressures on the quarterback. He becomes the first commit of the 2026 portal window and the first defensive player to commit to Will Muschamp. Geffrard fills an interior defensive line spot for the Longhorns who will certainly remain in the market to stack talented big bodies on the defensive side of the rock. View full news story

Texas has earned a commitment and signature from Florida State punter Mac Chiumento following a visit on Sunday. Chiumento recorded 27 punts in 2025 for the Seminoles, averaging 44.0 yards per attempt and a long of 55. Of his 27 attempts, 13 ended up inside the 20 as well. View full news story

My Portal Christmas List for Those Who Have Announced Intention to Transfer *** First and foremost, Merry Christmas Eve to everyone! Louisville has not released running back Isaac Brown to the portal. Even though he has submitted his paperwork, Louisville has not signed off on the transfer portal waiver, according to sources. The Cardinals are clearly making a last-ditch effort to retain him and/or muddy the waters for potential suitors. LSU is said to be doing something similar to offensive tackle Carius Curne. Brown posted on Twitter on Jan. 1 his intent to transfer. Schools have 48 hours (or two business days) before they must submit the paperwork to the portal. Coleman, a Phenix City, Ala. native, caught 56 passes for 708 yards and five TDs this past season for an Auburn offense that struggled most of the year. Trevor Goosby: The latest OnTexasFootball can report that Texas junior left tackle Trevor Goosby has signed an agreement to return to Texas for the 2026 season. That does not mean he can't also decide to enter the NFL draft. OTF has believed, and continues to believe, that there is plenty of positivity around the 6-foot-7, 315-pound All-SEC First-Team selection that he will ultimately return to Texas for a final season. Edwin Joseph, a 6-0, 190-pound safety from Florida State, is making a visit to Texas today. Joseph recorded 37 tackles and three interceptions as a starting safety. Blake Gideon is set to return to Austin as the Longhorns safeties coach in 2026. Gideon was the Longhorns’ safeties coach in 2024 and helped orchestrate a top ten defense with a hand over the backend of the defense. Georgia Tech hired Gideon as their defensive coordinator for the 2025 season, though after one year, Gideon returns to Austin. Jack Endries Declares for 2026 NFL Draft *** News out of Austin Friday afternoon: Texas tight end Jack Endries has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft. Endries, a one year transfer out of Cal, started all 12 games for the Longhorns this season. On the season, Endries hauled in 33 receptions for 346 yards and three touchdowns. The most impactful game of the season for Endries came in the final weekend of the regular season against Texas A&M where Endries went for a season-high 93 receiving yards.
