Personal Class Rankings of 2026 Signees *** Another year, another top 10 class for Texas. It is time for perhaps my favorite talking point of the year when I get to put my recruiting analyst title on the table and basically predict which players in the 2026 Texas recruiting class will have the biggest impact during their time on campus. If you are new here, I have done this for the past seven seasons with the predictions being anywhere from spot on, to couldn’t be further off. Looking Ahead to 2025 Citrus Bowl *** Freshman Connection QB Bryce Underwood gets all of the love for the Wolverines, and there is obviously some good reason for that. But none of that would have been made possible without freshman WR Andrew Marsh. The Katy native has put together a monster freshman season. Over the Next Month *** The stage is set for the Texas postseason – Michigan awaits in the Citrus Bowl on December 31st. For the next 24 days, there will be plenty to watch and keep track of. Portal decisions will be, NFL opt outs will be announced and coaching turnover are all on the line ahead of the trip to Orlando at the end of the month. Of those NFL decisions that will be made is the future of S Jelani McDonald. QB Dia Bell Known: athletic, accurate, intelligent, manuevers well in in the pocket, good size and requisite arm strength. Seems to have an unhurried feel for the rush. Texas vs. Virginia Game Thread: Virginia wants to throw a block party in Austin The Texas Longhorns take on Virginia tonight in the SEC/ACC Challebge. Both teams have first year coaches, and are off to impressive starts to the season. Josiah Vilmael: Friday decision The recruitment of speedy Fort Bend Travis defensive back Josiah Vilmael will come to an end Friday, per Vilmael. OnTexasFootball can report that Texas would accept a commitment from the 6-0.5, 175-pounder with 10.6 100 meter wheels. That does not mean the Longhorns will win out, however. Things could change as I’m literally typing this, but… These five players have not been announced by the schools they have committed to and all five have been recruited by Texas either all the way through or previously: - Richard Anderson - Trenton Henderson - Chris Henry - Jalen Lott - Lamar Brown To be clear, these things could end up being nothing at all. However, with both Steve Sarkisian and Brandon Harris saying the Longhorns aren’t done, there is definitely something going on behind the scenes.

As I wrote last night, there remain several players who Texas has recruited whose paperwork had either not been signed or not been appropriately filed with their schools of choice as of late yesterday. Those players include: WR Jalen Lott - Lott has communicated to Oregon that it’s a paperwork issue and not something to be concerned about. Yet he officially remains unsigned. 2027 Manvel DB Greedy James Commits to Texas *** Hook'Em! Texas has landed its second commitment of the 2027 class with Manvel DB Greedy James. James and his parents were on campus for the Texas - Texas A&M game with his parents where the staff made him a priority from the get go. Tuesday Recruiting: Latest on targets and commits I'm just going to run down the latest on several prospects. 5-star Richard Anderson, DL, New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr - The future of Frank Wilson on Lane Kiffin's staff looms large here. Anderson is not planning to sign Wednesday, per a source close to the recruitment. The college football gods did not smile on Texas yesterday. In fact only one team that ranked ahead of the Longhorns lost this weekend. Texas really needed two teams to lose - just about any two teams. Yet like much of the season, while OU’s offense was stuck in mud for an entire game, its defense saved the day long enough for its opponent to bust a couple of coverages.
