Upland (Calif.) High 4-star CB and USC commit Trestin Castro just told OTF it’s Texas or USC. He had a great trip, as expected, this weekend. His mom and aunt were on the trip. Kobe Black hosted Castro. Castro will make his OV to USC next weekend.

I was fortunate enough to see him play in college when I was in HS. My dad was a friend of Joe Lapchick, then the St. John's coach. He got us tix for the WVa game in Madison Square Garden. St. John's had a prospective All American wing named Tony Jackson, who was eaten alive by West. After the game, Lapchick told us that two college seniors, West and Oscar Robertson, were going to change the game at guard the way Russ, Wilt, and Pettit had changed it up front. 2025 Lovejoy WR Daylan McCutcheon departs Austin for home after his official visit to Texas. Was hosted by WR DeAndre Moore on the trip. Heads to Florida State next week, the school presumed to be the favorite at the moment. McCutcheon said he had a blast on campus, especially for the Tank Davis boxing match last night with the team.

2025 Jasper TE Kiotti Armstrong has shut things down and committed to Texas A&M. The talented tight end was on campus in College Station this weekend and the Aggies did enough to earn his commitment. Armstrong was scheduled to visit Texas for an official visit the week of June 21–23, though that trip remains uncertain at the moment. Texas still has Emaree Winston in the fold, and will host him and Nick Townsend next week for an OV as well.

Hearing freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. is very, very well thought of. Obviously, his father was a tremendous DB at OU and in the NFL. Hawkins Jr. trained with Kevin Murray for years - Murray is tremendous at teaching and pushing young QB's mentally. Jackson Arnold will need to perform very well.

With the longhorn Network we got a chance to see Texas volleyball, baseball, swimming, track, basketball and other sports. Will we the Texas fans be able to see all of the University of Texas volleyball games? Basketball games? Baseball games? If so, how would that be broken down live or tape delayed on the SEC network? ESPN? Was that part of the SEC meetings? Or will we miss X number of games from the non football sports?

With all the talk about Lamborghini after the big visitor weekend I'm kind of surprised the Tesla UT connection isn't stronger. I know a few players drive Teslas but it seems like a missed opportunity. Tesla is a brand with cache, especially with younger people, Tesla is one of the largest employers in Austin, Teslas are fast (Sark is building one of the fastest rosters in football), and the cars are incredibly safe which should put parents at ease. Seems like a slamdunk and a connect no other university could really imitate.

OTF was told Tuesday night that Conroe (Texas) High 4-star CB Dorian Brew remained in talks with Texas on an official visit, but had yet to finalize a date. As of last night, Brew was not expected to be in Austin this weekend. He currently has Oregon scheduled for this weekend. Brew has had Ohio State on the scheduled June 21-23 for a while.
