On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Rowing travels to Bethel, Ohio, for the 2024 NCAA Division I Rowing Championships on May 31-June 2 at East Fork/Harsha Lake in search of its third NCAA title in the last four seasons. The Longhorns head into the weekend as the top overall seed, including the No. 1 seed in the First Eight and Second Eight while the Four was selected as the second seed. Texas is the top overall seed for the second time in program history and first time since 2022. The First Eight earned the top seed for the third time in program history (2021-22) and the Second Eight for the second time (2022). Fresh off a ninth cons…

  2. The NCAA agreed to permanently change its transfer rules and allow multiple transfers without an athlete having to sit out one season upon the second transfer. This was expected. Not a major rule change IMO.

  3. I just got really excited about Niblack because the deep over routes that Sark draws up so well, and Quinn throws as well as any quarterback. Sanders would make sure handed catches and get extra yards after the catch, but Niblack might be the kinda guy who takes 4 of those to the house this year.

  4. I had no idea that UT had a club Lacross team and that they were so successful. They finished the regular season 13-0 and they defeated a&m in the LSA Conference Final but lost in the second round of the national championships. Check out the video.

  7. Ran across this today on YouTube and thought I would share. It’s pretty good. If you’re a fan of Texas HS Football then you will enjoy. Episode One: Episode Two: Episode Three: Season Finale (Episode Four):

  8. If that becomes official, Texas would circle back for a conversation.

  10. Let’s end the month of May the proper way… with Coffee and Football starting at 8 AM. We will be talking the Horns and taking your questions.

  11. With the bears being the hard knocks pick hopefully we get to see some rojo air time

  12. We will use this as the thread for the weekend, not just for Texas but for all teams playing from now until Sunday. Late to the party but Texas has to get some offense going. At the top of the 5th, Texas A&M leads the Longhorns 3-0 in the first game of the best of three series.

  13. Obviously there is a good chance that Texas is done in the portal, but if Texas was to take one more person what position could we see?

  16. Kick your morning off with us by joining us for Coffee and Football. We will be taking your questions and talking all about the Longhorns starting at 8 AM.

  17. All true fans of baseball know, to some extent, the history of the Negro League. We have all heard the stories of Satchel Paige striking out six MLB All-Stars in a row during an exhibition game or Josh Gibson’s mammoth home runs. MLB will begin to include that league’s stats into MLB’s record book. One article is listed below. I am personally thrilled to see this but Baseball is as stat driven, probably more, than any other sport. My only concerns are 1) potential sloppy record keeping for Negro League games 2) quality of some of the fields they played on. First, I think most of us agree that MLB stats have well kept (on a game by game basis) since at least 1…

  18. Enjoyed the convo on C&F with the OU guy earlier and I wanted to get y’all’s opinion on this. Excluding the non con games , flip Texas / OU opponents. What would your prediction for Texas be if they played OU’s schedule this year? What would OU’s record be if they played Texas’s schedule?

  20. If the number of 22% of athletic revenue, to be paid to athletes, being discussed is accurate, doesn’t that favor UT since we are year in and year the recenue leader in college sports? USA Today recently reported UT set a college record for single year revenue (article is below). Won’t that allow us to pay our athletes (both male and female) more than anyone else? Thanks https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/big12/2024/01/17/texas-athletic-department-271-million-revenue/72255138007/

  21. Texas A&M has snagged a commitment from Lancaster, CA cornerback Adonyss Currie. Texas had yet to get Currie onto campus for a visit, but I do believe there was an attempt to push for Currie at some point in this cycle. While Currie joins the Texas A&M class, that does not mean the Longhorns are facing a shape up on their cornerback board. Dorian Brew, Kade Phillips, and Aidan Anding remain on the table for Texas moving forward.

  22. JT Toppin has committed to Texas Tech. Picked TTU over Texas, TCU, and Kansas State https://x.com/TiptonEdits/status/1795498777710645444

  23. Just realized I never pressed "submit topic" on this hours ago. My bad yall! Join us today for Coffee and Football beginning at 8 AM. We'll be discussing all the latest Longhorns news, including the inevitable changes coming to college football and much more. Plus we'll be taking your questions as always! Come join in on the fun.
