Goosby has proven he is a competent pass protector...that wasn't the issue vs Georgia. The interior OL got murdered. Clearly we must do something different if we are going to keep trotting Quinn out there as we will need a respectable run game for him to lean on. So, say Kelvin Banks returns healthy by then, do you play him at LG and keep Goosby at LT? That would dramatically increase the physicality of the interior. Then you can tinker with RG and potentially Center if you want to move Hayden there. Am I crazy? Feels like we need to do something different there if we pull them again.

I know we probably won't take any O Linemen, but is this one we might make an exception for if he's interested given how we recruited him originally?

5 of the playoff QBs are ranked in the top 10 nationally. Their national ranking is in parentheses. I am surprised the Will Howard rating is that high. Kurtis Rourke, IND (nat rank 1) 181.38 Will Howard, OSU (3). 172.08 Dillon Gabriel, OR (7). 166.57 Drew Allar, PSU (9) 161.23 Sam Leavitt, ASU (10). 159.50 Kevin Jennings, SMU (13). 156.92 N Iamaleava, TENN (20). 152.71 Cade Klubnik, CLEM (26). 148.61 Quinn Ewers, UT (28). 148.11 Carson Beck, GA (32). 145.34 Maddux Madsen, BYU (37) 143.65 …

One of, if not the main reason Texas has to go to the portal for DL help in 2025 is because of the abysmal hit rate on the 2022 DL class. No starters and only two contributors out of the entire Dline class. Justice Finkley - low contributor J’Mond Tapp - transfer Kris Ross - transfer Jaray Bledsoe - transfer Aaron Bryant - transfer Zac Swanson - transfer Derrick Brown - transfer Ethan Burke - high contributor

Tramon Mark update The Texas Longhorns have played the first four games without transfer guard Tramon Mark. Mark, 6-foot-5, has been rehabbing a sprained ankle suffered before the Colorado scrimmage October 26. OTF was informed Tuesday mid-morning that Mark's return could be as early as Thursday. Texas is "Very hopeful" that Mark will play his first game as a Longhorn Thursday against Syracuse at 6pm CST on ESPN2. The Longhorns will play either St. Joe's or Texas Tech on Friday, November 22. OTF will say it's a game time decision, but he progressing on schedule for a return to the court as early as Thursday. Tramon Mark by the numbers 2023-24 a…

If "gird your loins" is the OTF catchphrase of recruiting could we set one for the portal, @Gerry Hamilton? Generic quips off the top of my head partnered with, "You better... Grab your helmet Get your head in the game Buckle up, buttercup Put on your game face Any thoughts Coffee & Football faithful? Wrong answers only 😉

It's a bit ironic and weird to me that during the previous dark decade, Texas had good kickers and punters and now that they have the offense and defense playing at a high level, the kicking game has trended downward. Have been spoiled with guys like Tucker, Dicker, and Dickson that were taken for granted. Auburn was on the way to be one of the greats but seems this year he went backwards, coincidence with getting the NIL deal over the summer.

Greg McElroy literally said the committee “went down a rabbit hole on prioritizing win-loss records that they were too far down the rabbit hole to put 9-3 Bama in over 11-2 SMU” These analysts need a reset. Let’s get back to the basics. This is about wins and losses, ultimately. This FPI, SOS, SOR, etc. crap is really for the birds. In the age of the 12 team playoff, these acronym arguments are for the teams Bama that know they screwed up by losing too many games. Booger McFarland said “we know what it’s like in the SEC and Big10, but that’s difficult to quantify and to have others appreciate”. It’s difficult to quantify because it’s an OPINION. Just win. Jesus …

Who are Texas’ Transfer Portal Targets? I know we have positional needs but who do we actually go after? Out of who I’ve seen enter so far this would be my wishlist ranking: 1. Dillon Thieneman S 2. Jeheim Oatis DT 3. KC Conception WR 4. Kendrick Law WR 5. Micah Hudson WR

I'll be the first to say I've been critical of Quinn at times. My brother can attest to that lol. Is Quinn perfect? Not by a long shot, but he's still a damn good qb. Quinn isn't Mahommes or Lamar. Never has been and never will be. Quinn needs structure, he needs the rest of the offense to do their jobs. The oline crapping the bed last night, Bond having a ball hit him in the hands and chest and just stand there while the corner tracked the ball. We can win it all with him. It just requires everyone else doing their part. The dumb penalties. Wasted downs on bad play calls. The refs were astonishingly bad last night. Just do your jobs and take them out of the game. …

The biggest issue for me on Saturday was the lack of positive plays on 1st and 2nd down, which came as a direct result of the lack of running game and costly penalties that kept the Longhorns behind the sticks. The numbers are awfully ugly when diving into it for the Texas offense. Texas had 18 3rd down snaps of offensive on Saturday vs. Georgia. 10 needed 9+ yards to convert The average distance was 11.6 yards only 4 were 3rd & short (1-4 yards) Quinn Ewers was 9-15 passing for 178 yards, but with two INTs. Those INT came on 3rd & 17 and 3rd & 9. Texas threw the ball on 16 of their 18 snaps on third downs, taking one …

Texas is the only team to make the CFP in both 2023 and 2024. Whatever happens, happens — but it’s clear the program is in a great spot.

Just need to get this off my chest. I am conflicted on how I feel. On the one hand, I am extremely disappointed in the loss. We had a chance to win this game. It’s frustrating because that was a beatable Georgia team. We could have and should have beat them. If we had not missed those field goals or turned the ball over. As Brian Robison said earlier, we should have sucked the life out of them in the first half. To lose to a back up quarterback is irritating. He did not do anything special, but we allowed them to hang in the game and they were able to pull it out. On the flip side, to be competing for an SEC title in our first year was a blessing. Jus…

Unless Oregon loses we are the 5 seed IMO. Committee will want to have us avoid a rematch with Georgia for a 3rd time and the 6 or 7 would be on their side of the bracket. Not to mention if they were to have ND or PSU jump us, they would have indicated that by putting them in front of us this past week. Don't overthink this one.

For those that feel like doing there homework (mainly because I can’t get the article to copy on here) I wanted to go back and track Kirby smart and when his success started at Georgia. Kirby was hired in December of 15. His recruiting class finished 6 that year the team finished 8-5. In 2017 they had the top class and went to the national championship.2018 the same top class and they finished 11-3. In 2019 they had the second highest recruiting class and finished 12-2. In 2020 number one in recruiting and 8-2 in the season. In 2021 they finished 5 and won it all that year. In 2022 they finished first in recruiting again and won the championship. In 23 first again and the…

I’m assuming we stay ahead of Notre Dame and get the 5 seed. Assuming ASU gets the bye over Clemson. We get Clemson or maybe Bama? Wonder if committee will be pressured to keep SMU in over Bama? I’d love the SMU, Arizona ST, Oregon bracket.
