Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is on the podium to discuss the loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

 

Jahdae Barron: "It can't just be me 'Poor me' for the next two weeks, we have to get back to work."

Ewers: We had plenty of opportunities in the red zone and just didn't capitalize.

Jahdae Barron says the defense lacked tackling in the second half and it bit them.

Sarkisian: These guys give me no reasons for pause that they won't bounce back.

Sarkisian says the team has had their backs against the wall plenty of times in previous years and have been able to push through.

Sarkisian points to negative plays and penalties that hurt the Longhorns in the red zone area.

Sarkisian says Texas will have plenty of time to recharge their batteries and get ready for the first round of the CFP.

Sarkisian : "There was a couple bang-bang plays we weren't able to get. I think the negative plays hurt us when we got there, and I think a few of the penalties hurt us as well. Now you're playing behind the chains, which is never where you want to be in the red area."

Sark: I really value this game. I think this game means a ton.

Was asked if it was fair for Texas and Georgia to have to play another 60 minutes with other Playoff teams at home.

Sarkisian said the Texas punt team had a return play called for the snap and lost leverage on the sweep.

Sark points to it being to a 10.2 guy in the 100m dash that was able to gain the edge and the first down. Says otherwise it was defended well.

We really need to evaluate play calling in the RZ and stop putting the ball on the right hash for Auburn. He missed 2 and almost missed the game tying one.

Bert Auburn was predictably poor on the right hash. He is not our standard, reduce his NIL and see what we can do in the portal.

Nope they just never give the reporter inside info again.
