On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Found this interesting!

That's how many Wisner needs for 1K on the season, looks like Sarkisian is getting another 1K RB. Credit to Wisner and the OL for girding their loins after Georiga. No one had this result on their bingo cards after the fall camp injury to Baxter.

  3. Gear up to gird your loins for Coffee and Football at 8:10 AM, as we talk the Horns and take your questions. Today we have two special guests, as our own Rod Babers will join at 8:30 AM, followed by Paul Finebaum at 9. See y’all there!

  4. Fun Fact: The aggies have only won 31% of the games against Texas. In order to get to 50%, they would have to win every game from 2025 to 2065. In order to be dominant, where Texas is now, they would have to win 80 games in a row and the year would be 2104. An aggie born today would be 80yo. Thus, Texas will remain dominant over the aggies FOREVER! …and no aggie alive today will ever live to see the day. …and running away to a different conference again will NEVER change this fact. Hook’em!

  7. Another recruiting note Fasten your seatbelt, there is going to be turbulence leading up to Wednesday. The Joseph Mbatchou flip will not be the last commitment Texas loses in this cycle. I'm not going to say the who because it's the prospects news to drop, but it is 100% happening. I'll also say this ... There are a couple of positive developments happening as well. #GirdUpYourLoins

  8. Let me get y'all's thoughts on this. This was just for the first half, but again, there was no true success in any fashion outside of the first drive for A&M on the offensive side of the ball.

  9. Texas DL Vernon Broughton has been named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for week 14. Broughton was superb against Texas A&M, finishing with two sacks and a fumble recovery to seal the deal on the road. Broughton becomes the fourth Longhorn to receive the Defensive Player of the Week honor from the SEC this season, joining Jahdae Barron (Week 12), Michael Taaffe (Week 9), and Anthony Hill Jr. (Week 7 and 13).

Texas has elected to wear the Road Whites for Saturday. I absolutely LOVE IT! I think Texas plays better as the road team / villain / hated. HookEm

  11. Texas did a fine job of managing the football game on Saturday against Texas A&M on the road in a hostile environment. With that said, they were able to own the time of possession in their favor as well. Texas: 34:38 Texas A&M: 25:22 Texas has ran 81 plays on the evening offensively, 50 of which were running plays. A look at the snap counts: *** Offensive Snap Counts Out of 81 possible snaps. 81 – Cam Williams, Hayden Conner, Jake Majors, Gunnar Helm 78 – Quinn Ewers 74 – Trevor Goosby 70 – Matthew Golden 67 – Quintrevion Wisner 66 – DJ Campbell 44 – Ryan Wingo 40 – DeAn…

  14. Both Kirby Smart and Steve Sarkisian will speak for roughly 20 minutes or so with SEC reporters in regards to the SEC Championship Game and what is at stake as the postseason begins. The Longhorns and Bulldogs will face off in Atlanta on December 7th.

  15. You've probably heard by now that there are a lot of aggies crying about the rules. They lost. Again! Take the L! Thus, I took a few minutes to write this and to send it to all of the crying aggies. Enjoy! Rules are rules. It's a touch down. FYI... The TV announcers made the verbal mistake, not the refs, and then the TV announcers quickly corrected themselves, after the rules analyst corrected them. For those who don't know the rule, here's the NCAA example of the rule. The ball does not have to touch the pylon, and the goal line is extended when the player hits the pylon. Please watch at the 1:17 time stamp: "If the right arm hit the pylon, but…

  16. Can someone explain exactly what revenue sharing is, how it will work and what effect it will have on recruiting/transfer portal?

  17. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is on the podium this morning to discuss the final bits of the Texas-Texas A&M game, as well as the upcoming SEC Championship Game featuring Texas-Georgia part II. The Longhorns will be the home team for the SEC Title Game which will kickoff at 3:00 p.m. CST on Saturday in Atlanta. Notes and quotes in the comments below.

  18. Rise and shine! It’s Coffee and Football time! Join us at 8:10 AM as we discuss that sweet, sweet victory over A&M, the SEC Championship against Georgia, the latest in recruiting and much more.

  19. Hey Bobby! You mentioned that you guys were planning on teaming up with the Atlanta Texas Exes during the post-game show last night. Is there going to be a party of sorts in place for the pre-game? Would love to sign up / go to one! The party at Mannings in NOLA last year was fantastic.

  20. Thank you to Sark and the team for making my job so much easier as 85% of my partners are Sooners or Ok St Cowboys - and for giving me bragging rights over my twin brother and his family who, although we had scoreboard since 2011, acted like a 5th place SEC finish was better than a Big12 Title. I’m torn on next week. I’d love to win and get a bye, but also want to rest guys for the playoff run. Would Sark sit Quinn? Assuming Banks sits out given how well Goosby played. I wish we had someone more reliable to give Wisner a blow. Great time to be a Longhorn.

  21. The NCAA Volleyball Selection Show is today at 6pm Eastern on ESPN. Texas should be a host for the first and second rounds next weekend.

  22. The game is finally here. For 13 years we were robbed of this game, and now it returns in all of its glory. Texas and Texas A&M – the winner to the SEC Championship in Atlanta on December 7th. Let me start with this, the atmosphere is unbelievable. *** 1st Quarter Texas kicks off to begin the game. Touchback. Texas defense on the field first. A&M takes a vertical shot to Terry Bussey who gets lost in coverage on the second play of the game for a gain of 27. Barryn Sorrell jumps offsides on 3rd and 3 to move the chains. Cannot provide freebies in this game on the road. Can’t do it. A&M is finding a lot of space through the ai…

  23. Florida has flipped back 2025 defensive line commit Joseph Mbatchou from the Texas Longhorn 2025 class. The Longhorns had previously won the Mbatchou commitment just over a week ago on November 23rd, though it is the Gators who come in swinging to get the talented Georgia DL back into their class. Florida is going down swinging with their top remaining prospects and Texas will need to be on high alert for Jaime Ffrench and Myron Charles for the final hours of the ESD period. Texas is back down to 23 commits in the 2025 cycle.
