College football's top 25 players of the 21st century as ranked by Bill Connelly on ESPN. Just one Longhorn on the list and he's ranked a couple of spots lower than I'd rank him. # 2 will probably make you puke. # 11 played in high school near where I live (adjacent district), I was surprised to see him on the list but he did have 24 sacks and 31 total TFLs in his best college season, so yeah, I guess I can understand it. Texas left tackle Kelvin Banks has been added to the 2024 Outland Award Watch List. This of course was the award DL T'Vondre Sweat won in 2023 for the Longhorns. And yes, tackles count as interior linemen for the award.

The Longhorns baseball program has hired Mason McRae as the Director of Analytics. McRae previously served as an Assistant in Amateur Scouting for the Boston Red Sox. Prior to his stop in Beantown, McRae served as the Director of Analyitcs at William and Mary and was also a scout for the Chicago Cubs organization.

This note comes from one of the school board members at Freer High School. It is regarding the Freer Band playing at Steve McMichael’s HoF introduction. Thank you to all who participated and/or passed the word around. I firmly believe everyone who participated paid it forward some so thank you very much. ** “Good evening Bobby. Cole Cubelic had a couple of quotes from Sark on this from a radio interview that I'm going to paraphrase. Sark's first year as an NFL offensive coordinator calling plays for a QB 12 years older than him told him "I don't need all the extra just give me the play." pretty much giving a QB too much extra info. Sark gave an example of him relaying info, "It might be outside zone with certain backs in the game and just remind him stay off the tackle's outside hip or if that safety goes 2 feet left then watch for the corner to crash." Texas QB Quinn Ewers has been listed to the 2024 Preseason Watch list for the Maxwell Award – given annually to the best all-around player in the country.
