From Las Vegas. Some comments from the circus ringleader: “We have solidified ourselves as one of the top three conferences in America,” Yormark said at Allegiant Stadium. “We are more relevant now than ever before. There has never been a better time than right now to be a part of the Big 12.” “We will be the deepest football conference in America, and every week will matter,” Yormark said. On spreading out the rivalry football games, rather than have them played on the same day in late November. For instance, BYU vs. Utah is on Nov. 9, while Baylor vs. Houston is on Nov. 23and Arizona vs. Arizona State is on Nov. 30: “Well, I think rivalri…

I thought this was timely given our recruiting bonanza given how he is turning the program around. Did not see a previous thread on this. If I missed it, please delete. AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle is one of eight coaches named to the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class, the organization announced Wednesday. Schlossnagle and the seven other members of the ABCA Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be honored and inducted at the ABCA Hall of Fame Banquet, which will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, during the 81st annual ABCA Convention at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Cente…

A small donation to this great cause. https://www.gofundme.com/f/freerhs-halloffameparade Freer High School is trying to raise the funds to send its HS band to the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction of its most famous graduate, UT alum Steve McMichael. They are not looking for a lot of money. About $20,000 to send 30+ kids up to Canton, Ohio on a bus and back. Freer is a small, rural community. Every little bit helps. I donated personally, as did Steve McMichael's wife. Pls consider helping if you can.

AUSTIN, Texas – The two-time reigning National Champion Texas Volleyball is the preseason favorite for the 2024 SEC volleyball season, according to the SEC Preseason Coaches Poll. The Longhorns, who will play their inaugural season in the SEC, are preseason conference favorites for the 14th consecutive year. Since 2011, Texas has lost a total of 11 conference matches for a record of 199-11 (.948), which included three perfect records of 16-0 (2013, 2017 and 2020). The Longhorns won their seventh-straight Big 12 Championship in 2023 and won the program's fifth National Championship. The Longhorns landed four players on the Preseason Volleyball All-SEC Team, the …

I did a dive into Sark’s 3 full recruiting classes. I believe Sark has been consistent in how he has approached recruiting, and Texas fans reactions have been consistent around this time of year regarding each class. I will try to post numbers regarding each class over the next few days. This is just an overview of few things, I found interesting during this dive. - According to 247 Texas has offered atleast 175 recruits in each cycle - Texas has had a total of 75 high school signees the past 3 recruiting cycles - Texas had a total of 24 signees via the transfer portal - 43 of the recruits that have signed from high school committed before August …

No other way to put this besides it is HUGE. The Perfect Game All American/Gatorade Player of the Year has flipped to Texas from the Aggies. Rerick has a 98 mph fastball, along with two breaking balls: a hard gyro slider and a 12-6 curve. He also throws one hell of a modified circle changeup.

We all know change is coming at some point to college football and more specifically the world of NIL. The Oklahoma Sooners have made an interesting move to get out ahead of what could be known as the salary cap era when it comes to NIL. 'General Managers' have popped up in college football this offseason, but in terms of spending the actual allocation of funds on prospects, this takes it to a whole 'nother level.

As a low-level season ticket holder, I qualified to request Vandy and Arkansas tickets this year (for the first time). Last I heard, they said we would be notified by July 15 re if we were able to purchase. Anyone receive notification or been able to purchase yet? Just curious. Really want to make the Vandy game this year as I'm right down the road (Arkansas would be fun too)

The Tampa (Fla) Tech 4-star+ WR and Oregon verbal has been in contact with Texas frequently since May. This is one the Horns have been recruiting heavily behind the scenes.

Another tremendous addition to the future of the Texas Baseball program. Jim Schlossnagle and his staff have landed the No. 1 player in the state of Texas — Kayson Cunningham, an infielder out of San Antonio Johnson HS. Cunningham was previously committed to Texas Tech, though reopened his recruitment and made the decision to stay closer to home and pick the Longhorns.

Want to get a little more of a sneak peek in the next few weeks of what some of the new additions to the Texas roster in 2024. As we near the beginning of training camp, you will begin to hear more and more of newcomers and the roles they are beginning to fill. Today, I wanted to start with Oregon State transfer WR Silas Bolden. After going through all of the opening drives Sarkisian and the Longhorns had in 2023, I am left with the belief that you will see a lot of Silas Bolden early in ballgames. Texas ran some sort of a screen play on nearly 18% of their plays on opening drives a year ago. It is not uncommon for Sarkisian to get his quarterbacks int…

Curious to get thoughts from Gerry and Bobby. I keep reading speculation about Terry's position as an ATH and most likely to play either TE or on Def, even though it's clear he wants to play on the offensive side of ball. Oregon promising RB. Nebraska offering at WR. Texas and A&M offering at ATH. Given his size, speed and highly productive record as RB and Receiver in HS (1500 combined yards and 20 TDs last year), curious who you'd compare Michael Terry to.... One comparable that came to mind for me was Lil' Jordan Humphrey. LJH stats after junior year in HS weren't nearly as impressive as Terry. Similar build. LJH came into UT at 200 lbs and 6ft 5in. H…

Four-star Eau Gallie (Fla.) defensive lineman Brandon Brown has made his decision – and Brown is headed to LSU. The relationship with Bo Davis ends up being the ultimate factor here for the Florida native. Folks in his corner were clear about the relationship and belief in Davis who was the first defensive line coach to buy into the potential of Brown almost a full year ago. Brown had been committed to Texas since December and now leaves the Longhorns without an interior lineman in the class. Lots of work to be done heading into the season on the trail. Another day, another commitment for the Texas Baseball staff. Schlossnagle and Co. head back to the JUCO ranks for the second consecutive day with the commitment of Ethan Walker, a LHP out of Walters State Community College. Walker pitched 30 innings at Walters State this past season, striking out 38, yet accumulating a 4.80 ERA. Walker sits with a 3-quarter delivery off the left side of the mound. He sits mostly around the upper 80's with his fast ball though brings a plus curveball to his game.
