A lot of times when talking about safety depth people bring up a long completion on Jelani Macdonald in the Spring game, but if I’m thinking of the same play it was a lack of linebacker depth, and an incredible read by either Arch or Owens to flatten the receiver’s route with his throw. He had no chance at that play no matter who he was. I’m more worried about the whiff on the run for if anything with Jelani

Don’t know if this was shared already, but Rueben Owens will miss the year after suffering an injury in their scrimmage. Crazy how two of the highest rated RB’s in the 23 class both suffered season ending injuries within the same week. Brutal. Of course, I won’t lose any sleep over it but hate that for any kid regardless of school. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40826303/injured-texas-rb-rueben-owens-miss-season

Texas had five wide receivers and one quarterback make the stat sheet this week. Not a lot of action overall, but some notable performances nonetheless.

Started off with a 13yd gain by JWhitt, followed by a solo tackle from DeMarvion Overshown on a 2yd run stop. JWhitt 30yd catch set Rams up for a field goal. Great start from Longhorns players in this game and in other preseason games this weekend. 🤘🏽

@Gerry Hamilton has already posted one set of scrimmage notes that you can find here, but I spoke with another source to get some information as well. Here’s what I learned: - Defense was the name of the game today. They were impressive from the get go and didn’t let up at all. - One thing they did a lot was bring pressure and show different looks to try and catch the offense off guard. - The defense forced multiple turnovers today. - We have some conflicting reports, but I was told Andrew Mukuba intercepted Quinn Ewers and Jelani McDonald intercepted Arch Manning. Obviously this is slightly different than what Gerry heard (Mukuba picking off …

Short Yardage Offense: Is there any inclination that the staff will use a "Heavy" in the RB position in short yardage / goal line situations? Maybe Gullette at 6'3" 240 pounding up the middle...I loved how they used Murphy last year. Wildcat: If Sark elects to go "wildcat", who is the leading contender to be under center? I think Wisener would work, but was wondering what y'all think? Hook'em

If the NCAA levies the punishment against Michigan prior to the start of the season or more staff is implicated and suspended, what are the transfer portal rules and would any UM players push the button to leave and which teams would be able to scoop them up based on scholarship rules? Thanks

2025 Bellville DL DJ Sanders has made his decision. The interior defensive lineman has committed to Texas A&M according to Hayes Fawcett. Sanders was down to Texas, Michigan and Texas A&M and ultimately the Aggies come away with the win.

It appears to me that to get to the championship game this year both teams will have played 15 games to get there. This makes the final the 16 game for the last two standing. Proof: After a twelve-game season a team will go to the first-round playoff game on Dec 21 or 22. Game 13. A win advances a team to the quarter-final game on Dec 31 or Jan 1. Game 14. A win in the quarter-finals advances a team to the semi-finals on Jan 9 or 10. Game 15. Championship game is on Jan 20 and is the 16th game! We are focused now on the Cedric Baxter injury. Be prepared to see a different looking roster by season's end. With a 33% longer season expect to…

With the unfortunate loss of Baxter, and the ensuing back and forth debate about how we can replace his production and intangibles, I was thinking about how you would really rank how truly "irreplaceable" a player is on the 2024 team. This is what I came up with: 1) Quinn. Yes, Arch is the heir apparent and may possibly be the superior player long term, but the importance of a 3rd year Quinn with advanced knowledge of the Sark offense can not be downplayed. 2) Ant Hill. Losing a tremendous LB in Ford, we are left with the super explosive Ford and the experienced career backup Gbenda. Beyond those 2 guys there is a huge drop off, with the smaller Blackwell, t…

Sad heartbreaking news as CJ gets the news from doc that it's a 6-9 month recovery for the MCL/LCL tear. Time for Blue/Wisner/Gibson & Clark to step up. Do yall see Gibson getting more playing time than Wisner in the upcoming season?
