Texas hosted 2027 RB Elijah Kimble (Buffalo, NY) for an unofficial visit Sunday afternoon. Kimble, a 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pound runningback currently holds 20 offers. New Texas RB coach Chad Scott has been in the mix for Kimble for well over a year. While at West Virginia, Scott offered Kimble in January of 2024, making West Virginia the fifth school to offer the talented RB from the north east. 2027 QB Malachi Ziegler will be in Austin for the Texas Elite Camp May 31. Ziegler is currently in Austin for the Elite 11 and the expectation is he will return at the end of May to compete in front of AJ Milwee and Steve Sarkisian. This will be Ziegler’s first trip to Austin for an unofficial.

I go with the most obvious 12-5 game. Colorado State is on a 10 game winning streak, including 7 wins over Pomeroy top 100 teams, and 4 wins over other tournament teams. Meanwhile, 5 seed Memphis hasn't even played a top 100 team since Jan 5, and it has 11 games that were losses or single digit wins since then.

LSU makes another splash at wide receiver after landing WR Jabari Mack out of Destrehan, Louisiana. Mack was scheduled to officially visit Texas in June. The Tigers were perceived to be the biggest threat for the Louisiana standout, and after stopping by Destrehan in February it was clear the Tigers were going to be tough to top. Good get for the Tigers, but another WR on the Longhorns board who has made a commitment elsewhere.

I don't have a link, but it is my understanding Kenneth Sims passed away last night. I had the pleasure of meeting Kenneth a couple of times over the years. My brain seems to remember each time being at Scholtz Beer Garten; but part of me thinks that is wrong and it was at a tailgate. Too long ago for me to remember where. But while I didn't have long conversations with him, I do remember he was witty, funny, and just a super nice guy. Seemed to be the kind of guy people gravitated towards. Also, he had the biggest hands on a human that I've ever seen in person. RIP Kenneth.

As we near the beginning of the Arch Manning-era at Texas, there remains a stacking of talent that bodes very well for the future of the program. On KJ Lacey specifically, I have heard some positives behind the scenes. One nugget specifically is the loose comparison to Bryce Young that has been circulating around folks in the facility. A text from someone who has seen him throw this winter: "Lacey can spin a football. His arm is ridiculous after watching him throw it (this week)." As spring football starts up next week, one guy that will be fun to get a first glimpse at will be the signal caller from Saraland, Alabama.

Seems like a crazy question on the surface and probably is a bit crazy even as I type this but it seems worth asking, given the past 20 years of results plus recent winds that seem to be blowing in Texas favor. Prior to Texas joining SEC, the horns' new facilities and Indiana's continued decline the past 10 years, this wouldn't seem to even be a question worth asking.
