Both teams have lost a lot of experience in key areas. For Texas, the OL, DL, DB, WR and QB all have graduated key starters. Arch has already shown he’s more explosive and diverse than Quinn which will be tough for any team to defend. Our skill positions are largely unproven with tons of upside. Our defensive pass rush could be #1 in the country with our Edge and LB rooms being the strongest in 20 years. For Ohio State, the losses look to be even more impactful with 17 total starters gone after the Natty. Ohio State’s entire front four on the DL are gone and much of the starting OL is gone. I was told a little bit ago that Dylan Voltanis will take over for Kade Bing beginning this weekend. The freshman left handed pitcher has impressed the coaching staff and they have confidence in this move going forward. Volantis has pitched 9.2 innings this season and boasts a 1.86 ERA with 13 strikeouts.

Add another linebacker to the official visit list for this summer. Georgetown Eastview LB Tieson Ejiawoko has set his official visit to Texas for the weekend of June 13-15. Currently committed to Texas Tech, Ejiawoko spent the Junior Day in Austin where he received his Texas offer. 6’3” and 230 at the moment.

Kenny Baker and his DL room took out the new faces and early enrollees to a dinner Wednesday evening. Of course, this is the first real look at the bodies in the room given the turnover from 2024 to 2025 where three transfers and three early enrollees join a room that consists of just Alex January and Melvin Hills as returning Longhorns. Texas likely isn’t done with additions to the room, but this is a good look at what it looks like currently.

@Gerry Hamilton@CJ Vogel Oline, specifically Cruz, brought this to mind. SIAP and I missed it. Could y’all do a chart or article on last year’s recruits with a “assessment “ of progress as viewed by the coaches? For example Cruz could be: -on track overall -lagging mentally , on track physically -lagging physically, on track mentally -exceeding overall -lagging mentally, exceeding physically, etc. Those are just examples/suggestions to clarify my ask.
