OnTexasFootball is expecting a top target of the Longhorns to likely commit to USC soon. With that said, Texas will not back off and just keep hanging around the rim. USC is making a huge NIL push to get some top 2026's in the boat early and try to hang on long term. Just like they did in the 2025 class ... which was a struggle with EDGE Isaiah Gibson ending up at Georgia, and DL Justus Terry ending up at Texas.

Great win. Probably should stop writing Terry off quite yet.

The Texas athletics department self-reported five NCAA violations related to impermissible sports wagering between July 11 and Nov. 4 of 2024, according to documents obtained by the American-Statesman. The documents, acquired via a public records request, redacted the names of the offending parties. Texas’ self-reporting entries listed two football players, a non-student-athlete associated with the women’s tennis program, a student assistant and an uncategorized athletic department employee as the violators. This is definitely a new one on me… MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez, like all football coaches, wants his players to show up on time, work hard and play their best. Oh, and another thing: Don't dance on TikTok. "They're going to be on it, so I'm not banning them from it," he said Monday. "I'm just banning them from dancing on it. It's like, look, we try to have a hard edge or whatever, and you're in there in your tights dancing on TikTok, ain't quite the image of our program that I want." After winning a share of the SEC regular-season championship in its first season as a conference member, Texas dominated the league’s women’s basketball postseason awards for the 2024-25 season, which were announced Tuesday. Sophomore forward Madison Booker was named SEC Player of the Year while Vic Schaefer was named SEC Coach of the Year. Booker was a first-team All-SEC selection, senior guard Rori Harmon earned a spot on the SEC All-Defensive Team and guard Jordan Lee rounded out the Longhorn honorees with her selection to the SEC All-Freshman Team. Named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press as a freshman, Booker’s SEC honor comes after being na…

Just reiterating and adding to what we have discussed over the last week or two about Christian Clark and his recovery from his Achilles injury. I was told that the redshirt freshman running back is out of support braces and splints when working out. Clark is not quite at 100% in the weight room, but is very close. Of course, last week we discussed Clark's recovery timeline following the photo released of him front squatting 275 pounds. Steve Sarkisian in his Monday press conference singled out Clark's recovery, adding that he was "pleasantly surprised" with the progress made so far. The typical Achilles injury recovery timeline is set for 6–9 months. Given…

Was listening to the spring preview episode for the DBs last night. Really exciting times in that room, with a lot of competition going on. However, I noticed Warren Roberson wasn't mentioned at all. He seemed like one guy that has the potential to really benefit from the staff changes and open competition. Had some costly mistakes on special teams, but the slate has been wiped clean to some extent. Has he been recruited over? Still fighting for a spot at Star? I know he was always a high effort guy that needed some time to develop coming out of Red Oak. Curious what his outlook is, given the last two recruiting classes.

Texas DB Derek Williams Jr. shared a photo of him working out with the team during winter conditioning. Of course, Williams was listed yesterday by Steve Sarkisian as one of the players who would be limited during the spring OTAs as he returns to full strength after tearing his ACL in the Oklahoma game. Good sign as he continues to build towards a return.

OnTexasFootball was waiting for DeAndre Moore Jr. news to come out from Steve Sarkisian today. The Texas WR is not expected to go through spring practice. He had a toe injury that lingered late in the season, and is having that repaired to be 100% for the season. Similar injury to Matthew Golden, and we all saw how well he bounced back.
