Stanford EDGE rusher David Bailey is set to visit Texas on Tuesday according to a report from On3 Sports. Bailey recorded 7.0 sacks for Stanford in 2024 and was in Lubbock Monday for a visit with the Red Raiders. According to the report, a visit to UCLA is in play as well. The 6-foot-3-inch, 240-pound linebacker also recorded five forced fumbles last fall.

It's crazy to see one year later how far the Longhorns have come under Coach Schloss and his staff. I'm sure we'll go through some rough patches during the next 6 weeks, especially due to injuries at times and the gauntlet of SEC teams ahead, but it's such an awesome improvement over last year. Two 4-star visitors on campus today Two of the top in-state targets for the Texas Longhorns in the classes of 2026 and 2027 are on campus today. Both took in spring practice and have been spending time with Texas staff members. Houston area 4-star LB Mayde Creek 4-star linebacker Kosi Okpala is back on campus today. Might not be that hot of a take, but while Texas (or any SEC job) has more resources and leverage because of football money, some solely basketball schools (because of history and wins) are still better head coaching jobs than Texas.

So I have a couple of buddies that are hardcore Dirtburglars. They were telling me today with a good year Mateer will be a Heisman candidate. I’m not much of a crap talker so I’m just taking this all in, when the other guy pops out, will have the at least the second best defensive line in the SEC. So I’m still just kinda trying to process this conversation when he says, I think 10-2. I just don’t see it maybe so, I was just like pretty lofty considering the dumpster fire last year.
