  2. Judge Wilken, asking about the settlement being intended to cover the next ten years, affecting hundreds of thousands of people in the future who are not yet in college: “Can you have a class of future people who aren’t known yet? ... Can they be understood to release claims for things that haven’t happened yet?" A little later she asked: "Is that the death knell?"

  3. Two Texas OL notes Redshirt freshman center Daniel Cruz is having a very solid spring. On track to be a three year starter (2026-28). Freshman OT Nick Brooks is well ahead of where Texas thought he would be. “Going to be a stud”. Those in Moncrief are very high on him … at tackle.

  5. Week 3 of spring football begins tomorrow morning as the Longhorns take the field for practice No. 7. A few nuggets over the weekend that I picked up on the mini scrimmage/team period from practice No. 6. *** – WR Daylan McCutcheon found the end zone over the middle of the field during the team setting. Route running continues to be a strength for the early enrollee who has continued to see time with the first unit. – A pair of nuggets on the RB room. RB Christian Clark has been making some noise this spring after recovering from an Achilles injury last fall. The staff is keeping Clark pretty limited in the live situations so far this spring, but …

I had an Ag friend tell me when we first joined the SEC that we weren't ready for the SEC. That we weren't tough enough. He was right at the time. But as we continue to dominate the SEC in every sport except for MBB, it's becoming obvious that the SEC wasn't ready for TEXAS. The SEC mat not be TEXAS tough. The Ags sure as hell aren't.

  16. AUSTIN, Texas — When Texas baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle and pitching coach Max Weiner recruited Jared Spencer out of the NCAA transfer portal last summer, they anticipated he’d be a starting pitcher. It wasn’t a certainty considering the 6-foot-3-inch, 210-pound southpaw only made 11 starts in three seasons at Indiana State. What Spencer did in Friday’s 5-1 win over No. 3 Georgia provided further evidence that their hunch was correct. The work Spencer has done under Weiner’s tutelage helped him win the job heading up the weekend rotation in the Longhorns’ first season in the SEC, playing the role of staff ace to perfection in front of 7,246 fans at UFCU Disch-Falk…

  17. Sean Miller and the Horns have added another piece out of the portal. Former Purdue 6–7 forward Cam Heide has committed to the Longhorns. Heide averaged 4.7 PPG in 2024-25. Though he is a career 41.2% three-point shooter, making 49-119 of his attempts in his two seasons as a Boilermaker. Heide is the second portal addition so far for Sean Miller and his staff.

After 5 1/2 years in Dallas I finally tried Pecan Lodge yesterday. I was immensely disappointed. It wasn’t terrible, but certainly didn’t reach the level of top end Texas barbecue. Of the places I’ve tried here in Dallas I would say Slow Bone > Cattleack > Pecan Lodge. I think Cattleack and Pecan Lodge are pretty close. Regarding Pecan Lodge, tried the following: - Brisket - moist with an OK crust, but a bit bland. Needed salt and something else. - Brisket burnt ends - the basting sauce provided more flavor than the brisket, but not a favorite - Pork ribs - decent flavor, slightly sweeter version of the brisket crust. I strongly prefer …

I’m very interested to see how Texas ends up running the backfield out in 2025. You have Wisner who put his foot in the ground and carried the RB room last year despite seeming to be a depth piece, you have Gibson who shined at points and can be a good piece. Then you have Christian Clark who had new reports coming out everyday about how he is back and better than ever, and looking “phenomenal” in practice. And then you have Baxter, former #1 overall RB, took the reins in the 2023 playoffs and was expected to be the next great Texas back. I honestly am really interested to see what they do with this room.

  20. So.... I've stated here a few times that when we lost out on D.K. Moore... initially, I like many, was devastated. Then I quickly reevaluated the situation and the job done by this staff so far, and I started asking myself the right questions. Granny used to say time reveals all. She was so right. So, he chose Oregon...right? Dan Lanning...right? Of course we know Coach Samples and Phil Knight mainly got it done, along with Evan Stewart's co-sign... but in effect, he chose a coach that doesn't do it for clicks...right? Well, why the hell is this freshman reciever that hasn't played a down appearing on The Pivot, with a kid who chose the very same coach he thr…

  22. Not an April Fool's day post, he's their new guy. Career record of 99-52 which percentage wise is almost identical to 8-4. From the Pete Thamel article on ESPN - McMillan is the head coach at Samford, which he led to a pair of Southern Conference championships and one NCAA tournament in his five seasons there. His overall record there was 99-52, and he led Samford to four-consecutive 20-win seasons. He defined a style that includes a heavy emphasis on pressing and disruption. It is one that not only plays fast on offense, but it attempts to speed up the opposition. In each of the past two seasons, Samford's opponents turned the ball over at a rate that put…
