If not fixed by the BYE week send Arch home to work it out his mental issues with Arch Sr and his uncles. It's all internal and personal.

Opinion on how to use Arch Moving Forward Through three weeks, I think it is more than fair to say the Texas offense remains a work in progress. The learning curve has yet to narrow and oddly after playing UTEP, I feel like there are more questions and unknowns than after playing Ohio State. Still, that does not mean the season is over, nor does it mean there can't be redeemable qualities for the Texas offense. I am certain the offense does not look as bad as it did on Saturday if DeAndre Moore, Emmett Mosley V, Tre Wisner and CJ Baxter were healthy. That is four of your top six playmakers sidelined to injury and it is week three. Additionally, I am sure th…

Steve Sarkisian told reporters on Monday that Texas running back CJ Baxter will NOT play this weekend vs. Sam Houston State. Baxter was injured with a hamstring issue on the first play of the game against UTEP. "We don't think it's overly significant," Sarkisian said. "But he'll be out this week to get him ready for SEC play," Texas rolled out James Simon, Christian Clark and Jerrick Gibson as a result. Sarkisian did not provide a firm status on Tre Wisner who has been sidelined with a hamstring issue as well. Texas will evaluate the third year running back as the week continues.

I doubt it would ever happen, especially not midseason, but I wish Sark would swallow the “offensive guru/quarterback whisperer“ label long enough to bring on a fresh voice in the Coach‘s office, if not the locker room. Super Dave stated elsewhere that carrying head coaching duties and offensive coordinator duties may be too much for any one person to accomplish in modern college football. I agree. I know he is older but what about giving Norv Turner a call? Or what about any number of options known to the Manning family and so forth. It seemed to stabilize the defense quite well when Greg Robinson came on spur of the moment in 2013 after the Manny Diaz strugg…

Michigan State commit to visit Texas this weekend Michigan State linebacker commit Braylon Hodge (Denver/Cherry Creek) was offered by Texas last Wednesday, and will quickly visit the Longhorns. Hodge tells OnTexasFootball that he will be making an unofficial visit this weekend for the Sam Houston State game. The 6-3, 215-pounder is likely to make a November official visit, assuming things move forward with both parties after this weekend. Michigan joined Texas in offering last week.

It is the coach job to enforce his mechanics. As a Colt fan, Peyton would often confess in his early years that Frank Reich his qb coach (ex pro qb) drilled to fix his mechanics. The one guy that all the Mannings used was David Cutliffe. Peyton ran to him after his neck surgery.

Dia Bell Update I can now talk about this a little more. When I stopped by American Heritage Wednesday, Dia Bell was not at school. He was at doctor getting an undisclosed injury taken a look at. At the time, the American Heritage staff didn’t know the extent of the injury. Per multiple reports, the 5-star QB is in street clothes tonight. There is chatter in the South Florida coaching community that Bell could be out for the remainder of the season. That is not OTF reporting that. We do not have confirmation of the severity of the injury, or even what the injury actually is.

This is Arch’s redshirt sophomore season. 2007 was Colt’s redshirt sophomore season. That year Texas went 10-3 with losses to K State, OU and A&M and ended with a Holiday Bowl win vs Arizona State. Colt’s stat line that season: 65% passing for 3,305 yards, 22 TDs and 18 Interceptions. We all know how 2008 and 2009 went from there. Maybe we just need to be patient. (Also it would help if Sark had a Jamaal Charles in this backfield.)
