So crazy the leading returning SEC rusher was so hated on by this fan base calling on an often injured guy to be a savior or a true freshman that is unproven to be the guy. Tre is our workhorse. It’s what it’s

If you can’t manage more than 3.2 YPC against an FCS opponent, you have OL issues. OU got way too much credit for beating Michigan (same with TAMU vs Notre Dame).

Sunday Recruiting: Feeling good Short and sweet this morning. OTF is feeling very good about two prospects the Longhorns are recruiting. One prospect is currently committed to another school. And one prospect is not committed anywhere, at least for a couple of weeks.

3 Stars of the Game following the Longhorns' 23–6 victory over the Sooners in Dallas. *** Star No. 1. – CB Malik Muhammad What a return to the field it was for Malik Muhammad on Saturday. The two interceptions were clearly the headline, but Muhammad was nails otherwise. Muhammad added another pass breakup and a tackle for loss to his tally on the afternoon. We talk about players taking the jump in their contract year, well, Muhammad is doing exactly that. We saw how the perception of a true CB1 can help the Texas defense a year ago, hopefully it will do the same in 2025 with Muhammad moving forward. Star No. 2 – RB Quintrevion Wisne…

I’m curious… Who are your MVP’s on both sides of the ball from this Sunday I would say Offensive: Tre Wisner, just looked dominant and was the main life of the offense Defensive: Manny Muhammed, came back with a vengeance and looked like the lockdown CB1 he was predicted to be after his freshman breakout. If he can hold his form he’s an All-American and getting drafted in the first 2 rounds.

A new 2026 name on the radar One of the 2026 prospects on hand in Dallas for the Texas 23-6 win over Oklahoma was Dylan Waters (Missouri City, Texas/Marshall). The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback is putting together a very impressive senior campaign for the Buffaloes on both sides of the ball. Waters committed to Utah over UCLA June 24 after making official visits to both. Texas cornerbacks coach Mark Orphey stopped by Marshall High prior to the Longhorns flying out to Florida to watch Waters up close in a practice. Since that time, Orphey has been in touch with the circle of Waters in the last week or so. While an offer hasn't been extended to…

Heard the recap show from Ikard & Lehman and they kept it real. What I respect most is when people keep it 100%, and they did exactly that. They see the Texas program from the outside and they’re right — this is probably the worst team this program will field for a while. A young O-line that will only improve, Arch gaining experience and confidence, and skill players still developing — the foundation is there. This season might not be one for the record books with a national title run, but it’s a valuable building block year. We’ll learn more about this program over the rest of the season than we have the past two — really since Sark’s first couple years. Le…

I didn't realize that OU had a bye this upcoming week. So, you're telling me they could have had a well rested Mateer ready to go after Red River if he sat? Imagine if they sat Mateer and went with Hawkins. If they lost, they could have pointed out that Texas only won because Mateer didn't play. Hell, that would have been the narrative the national media went with too. If they somehow won with Hawkins, they would have been in prime position and broken the back of this Texas team. Now after Red River, Texas provides a blueprint to beat OU, Mateer looks to have gotten beat up/exposed, and they are facing the toughest schedule in the country, arguably. Just a dumb …

I had mentioned in a different thread that there is a huge difference in Mateer's success against defenses ranked 74th or better as opposed to defenses ranked 75th or better. I have attached that stats from his 2024 year at WSU. Have fun sharing this knowledge with every OU fan you know. Defensive Rankings Points Yards TD Int QBR Wyoming 90 103 1 1 23.5 Oregon St …

What happened to the T-shirt that said OKLAHOMA FEARS GOD, TEXAS FEARS OKLAHOMA? It seems like Oklahoma fears scoring touchdowns. LOL. And maybe they should start fearing Texas as well.

Sark is now 3-1 vs. Brent Venables at Oklahoma. Couple of crazy numbers... Texas has outscored Oklahoma 54-0 in the second half of the three wins. Even counting the 2023 win, Texas has outscored Oklahoma 67-14 in the second half.

Franklin getting fired is good for Texas. When a Blue Blood program fires a coach a pretty significant domino affect usually occurs (unless they hire internally from a true retirement scenario such as Stoops to Lincoln Riley) Whoever replaces Franklin will need to be replaced at his old school and that guy too will need to be replaced and so on and on. That opens up so many doors for other programs on Penn State's blue blood level. Granted, I'd rather it be a blue blood SEC coach as that would be more relevant but since Texas does recruit nationally, I'm getting a little excited here.

....for weeks we kept asking, "What is our identity?" Yesterday's game showed a tough, physical team, that took what the defense gave them. We saw an offensive line that fought and was motivated to be aggressive and mean. Arch was smart, athletic, and very poised. Our defense was tackling with aplomb, ferocious, and Johnny on the spot. This will be a huge confidence builder for a young team. Kudos to the coaching staff for working hard to get the bad taste of Florida out of the players' system.

View from the Cheap Seats-Red River War The Angry Team Won “Only angry people win football games.”-Darrell Royal. In a series dating back to 1900, covering 121 games, TEXAS came into the game with their season on the brink. There is zero margin for error, as another loss, especially against their bitter rival, would end any hope of a playoff berth and send the fanbase over the edge. The pre-season edition of the Cheap Seats stated this team would take us as far as the defense would carry us. After a horrid showing in the swamp, the defense came out angry, pissed off, and with a point to prove. And prove it they did. Coach Kwiatkowski’…
