@Blake Munroe This will surely have some major downstream effects I would think. Wow

  2. On the eve of No. 21 Texas attempting to build on winning last Saturday’s 23-6 fist fight with Oklahoma when it faces Kentucky on the road (6 p.m., ESPN), what Colin Simmons said on Monday stands out as the theme of the week for Steve Sarkisian’s team. Texas (4-2, 1-1 SEC) wants its suffocation of the Sooners to be the jumping-off point to a prosperous second half of the regular season. Coming off of his most productive game of the season (five tackles and 2.5 sacks), Simmons, who was named SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in the win over Oklahoma, was blunt in his response when asked about the challenge of maintaining the mental approach the …

  3. In overtime, on the road, not playing well, just LINE UP AND KICK THE FG. Why take a chance of a turn over or HOLDING CALL? The defense was absolutely amazing and Sark, who I rarely criticize, left his brilliance on the bus. Fortunate to come away with a win. Good kick Mr. Shipley.

  4. The pregame injury report from the SEC is out and CJ Baxter is officially OUT for tonight’s game against Kentucky. Maraad Watson is a game-time decision.

  5. We’re halfway through the college football season, and the biggest surprise in the SEC might just be the quarterbacks. Takeaways 1) Preseason All-SEC QBs have underwhelmed. The preseason All-SEC QBs were Garrett Nussmeier (1st Team), LaNorris Sellers (2nd Team), and DJ Lagway (3rd Team). None of them have hit double-digit passing touchdowns through the first half of the year. Their collective QB rating hovers around 135, which is below the SEC average for starting quarterbacks. 2) Jackson Arnold is still Jackson Arnold at Auburn (and OU still sucks). Jackson Arnold has been sacked 21 times—twice as many as Arch Manning (10 sacks), and that’s saying some…

Sark, if you want your Oline to play better, have them watch Vandy Oline today vs. LSU. Now that is a technically sound and disciplined Oline.

  7. A&M game moved to 4:30 pm on ESPN. We are still scheduled to kick at 6:00 pm on ESPN. Where will our game air with the overlap?

Sam Ehlinger was released by the Broncos on Friday, but this report indicates he could be brought back as early as today:

  9. Sorry if I missed it but we’re up here for the game this weekend with some buddies. Where are the On Texas Football folks getting together tomorrow to tailgate or watch the earlier games before the Horns? TIA and Hook em!

  11. Genuinely curious...what are everyone's thoughts about the benefits (or lack thereof) of being part of the SEC a couple years in? Looking at the schedules of Texas Tech, Miami, Oregon, and even Ohio St as top 10 teams in other conferences, they have a much clearer path to the playoff than Texas will ever have especially with the SEC moving to 9 games and the consistently high competition in the conference. Does the recruiting advantage, higher revenue share, etc. outweigh the negatives of a much more difficult regular season and path to the playoffs? Does Texas further hurt itself scheduling non conference games like Ohio St? Hard to feel like those games …

Lexington weather could really have an impact on the game Saturday. There is a front coming from west to east into Kentucky that will hit over the weekend. Lexington is in the central part of the state. The front is expect to bring 40-45 mph winds and rain. It has been difficult to nail down the timing of when this front will hit Lexington as not all sites show hourly forecast beyond 48 hours. If this hits before or during the game it this turns into a run only game. I know there were concerns before the Fla game & it turned into a false alarm. This Kentucky storm could really make it difficult to throw the ball if there are 40-45 mph winds combined …

  15. Freshman WR Michael Terry III received reps at running back on Tuesday during practice. There had been whispers of Terry receiving some looks from the running back room late last week after getting the bump from the scout team to the actual practice squad for the offense and sure enough, that comes to fruition early this week. With Jerrick Gibson leaving the team and Rickey Stewart awol, an additional, capable body has entered the fold for Chad Scott and his room. I do not expect to see a lot of Michael Terry III on the field, yet. Through six games, Terry only has six snaps which all came against Sam Houston State. However, there is a plan to keep him invo…

  17. Texas replicating exactly what it did while choking the life out of Oklahoma en route to winning the Red River Shootout for the third time in four years is a formula capable of giving the Longhorns a chance to win their six remaining regular-season games. Specifically, Texas (4-2, 1-1 SEC) would love the manner in which it manhandled the Sooners in the second half to carry over to the back half of the schedule, which begins with Saturday’s road game against Kentucky (6 p.m., ESPN). After trailing Oklahoma at halftime, 6-3, the Longhorns recorded a 20-0 edge on the scoreboard in the second half. Texas had a 188-88 advantage in total yards, racked up 91 net yards …

  18. SEC Standings Generator: https://bball.notnothing.net/sec.php?sport=fb This one made the rounds on reddit last year. It against appears to be very accurate and follows the correct tie-breaking procedures. Very similar to the NFL Playoff Machine on ESPN. Pick the teams you think will win each week and hit Calculate Standings. It will show you the final regular season standings.

  19. For those headed to Lexington this weekend, we'll be at Blue Stallion Brewing Co. in Lexington near the Distillery District from about 4-7pm on Friday afternoon. There is no cover. 21. OTF Live: Edna Karr High in New Orleans New Orleans, La - OTF is spending a couple of hours at Edna Karr High this afternoon. Texas 4-star commit Hayward Howard Jr. is playing both corner and free safety this year. The Edna Karr staff believes he may end up being a 6-4, 195-200 pound safety with ball skills and range. Staff believes his best ball is way out in front of him. Doesnt turn 18 until July
