Dan Neil had a piece on another site and just layed it out perfectly. Texas insistence on “large humans” has been mostly a failure. I realize Dan was undersized and nasty and that is exactly who he says are the type of players Texas needs to pivot to at least at center and guard. He says it won’t get fixed this year and the scheme they ran vs OU should be the gameplan in every game and was incredulous why they didn’t use it vs UK. I realize it’s been said in so many words on here and elsewhere but Dan knows ball and lived it.

View from the Cheap Seats-Kentucky Blue Grass time Winning ugly is better than losing pretty. Having said that, this was the ugliest win and most anemic offensive performance in the Sark era. In a game where the Horns were outplayed and outcoached on the offensive side of the ball, the good guys managed to eek out a win on the road in Overtime, thank you defense for that amazing back-to-back goalline stands. 4-star OT Micah Smith update Texas OL coach Kyle Flood continues to talk with the 6-foot-5.5, 325-pounder with getting a November OV set up. The current UCLA verbal still has Ohio State at the top of his list following an October 4-5 OV. Texas is hoping to get November 22 weekend OV scheduled, but it may well be dependent on Vero Beach's playoff run. Vero Beach ends the regular season October 30. The 8-0 Indians are going to be a pick to play deep into the playoffs, which could knock out November 22 weekend. Tennessee and Auburn are also trying to get a visit from Smith prior to the December signing period.

Alright @Blake Munroe I bought a Ewers jerseys through fanatics a few years ago. It was the standard NIL Nike jersey. Had a friend reach out tonight looking for one, and I checked fanatics. Ugly and disappointing win, however we are still in the race to get into CFP. Sark took a huge GAMBLE by going with young OL. He is betting on their quick development. The scheme is totally off to the current offense maturity. If his gamble fails we will be out of the CFP. Good Luck

New 2026 Cornerback Offered Mark Orphey has extended a new offer in the class of 2026. Texas offered 2026 Fairview CB Toray Davis out of Boulder, Colorado Monday afternoon. Davis, a 6-foot-1-inch cornerback recently decommitted from UCLA in September and has earned offers from Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Arizona State and now Texas in the month since being back on the market. In the current 2026 class, Davis comes in ranked right inside the top 500 in the national composite rankings. The Longhorns sit with Hayward Howard Jr. and Smoke Matthews in the class at the moment.
