If one listens to Kirby’s post game PC, he mentioned “Texas kids” on Georgia team and said this in response to a question … “It’s what we build our core culture around, being the more physical team and you have to recruit physical players… I don’t know that, a lot of these kids want a check. They don’t want physicality. If you have the check and no physicality, you end with nothing. You’re not just getting checks at our place. We’re hitting people.” That is clearly aimed at two recruits in his mind, and future recruits in head-to-head battles

He never found any open space to run when he dropped back to pass. I know we don't want him running to much but he can motor. Georgia's QB ran effectively wish Arch could of too. Our two called QB running plays were a disaster.

A few eye-opening rushing statistics *** Very clearly a main topic of discussion given how this season has gone, but I wanted to set an idea for where things are in the running game currently. Texas rushing stats vs. ranked opponents since the beginning of 2024. Texas has played 13 ranked teams in that time span. Only three times out of the 13 games has Texas averaged 5.0 yards or more. Is that personnel? Is that scheme? Is that the inability or unwillingness to stick with the run before it can figure itself out? I'm not sure. I loved Mack Brown!!! He turned our program around when we needed it. But Mack and Greg Davis had limitations. With the likes of Applewhite and Simms at QB we were a very good 10+ win team, but not a championship caliber team. It took a VY and Colt to make us a championship caliber team. They won us games in spite of Mack and Davis’ deficiencies. I like Sark!! He turned our program around when it needed it. Sark is a great face/voice for the program. After the last few weeks there's zero doubts in my mind that we're seeing Arch play his best football and we're seeing him progress more and more every week. He's tough as nails, he has zero fear of standing in a dirty pocket and taking a hit, he can evade rushers, he can get out of the pocket and he's finally being accurate with the football. PFF gave him a 82 adjusted completion percentage. He threw the ball more than 40 times. That's elite level of accuracy. This inexcusable loss coming off a bye week against a team who fired their coach is why we are essentially eliminated from playoffs. Had it not been for Sark and co laying an egg with their game plans and our execution of game plans we’d still be contending for a playoff spot.

Herman was coming off a big season with a bowl win over Georgia and then just totally under performs the next year and then goess off the trails. I think Sark is potentially at a crossroads moment. He needs to make staff changes, either give some authority to Brandon Harris or hire somebody he can, and hire a OC so he can focus on being head coach. We've all seen these moments on the past with head coaches. Mack did after 2003. I guess we'll know in the two months whether Sark can do it.

With 5 losses to Ohio state and Georgia in the last 12 months and with OU, A&M, and Tech most likely all being in the playoff how do we pitch to recruits. I’m not worried about the 2026 class, most recruits seem to be locked in. However looking forward what’s our pitch, we have little to no momentum. Ohio st and Georgia can pitch they dominate us. Tech and A&M are putting a better product on the field as well as having heavy NIL. I see these schools getting way ahead in 2027 and 2028 classes already. I know it's been harped on enough, but what's the deal with our secondary? Why are we playing so far off the ball? The defense looks to be two different squads playing a different game. Stockton didn't even have to think because his first read was always 5 yards open, especially in their first two touchdown drives. It doesn't matter how good our pass rush is if we don't even have to make Stockton pause for even a second. If we are running this like a NFL team, why would we continue to pay players high money for lackluster play? We have free agency where we can replace those guys. Will or has Texas lowered a players NIL after year 1, because it needs to happen. I’m an adjunct settlement judge in the Northern District of Oklahoma and will offer my services in these negotiations.
