So… what happened to Thursday night college football? This used to be a thing!!! Like, a real weekly ritual — a big-enough stage that you’d plan dinner around it, flip on ESPN, and watch some random ACC or Big East game that somehow felt important because it was the only show in town. Now? Crickets. One MAC game here, a stray C-USA game there, but nothing that feels like appointment viewing. I know the NFL muscled in, I know coaches hate short weeks, and I know TV networks reshuffled the whole calendar… but still. For a sport that clings to tradition, it’s wild how quickly we all pretended Thursday nights never mattered.

LSU is putting on an all-time clown show right now, and it has nothing to do with on-field play calling. From the messy coaching search to the way they handled Brian Kelly’s exit, it’s hard to find anything that resembles competence in Baton Rouge. The “presidential search” looked less like a real process and more like a performance to justify a hire that was already decided. Meanwhile, the Brian Kelly situation has gone from bad to completely unbelievable. LSU is now arguing he wasn’t officially fired after the A&M game and is suddenly trying to label it a “for cause” firing — months later — to dodge a $50M buyout. Never mind that they publicly framed it as a pe…

Two things struck me about this clip: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Dzt3ukior/ 1. How far could you stretch $13 in 1977? 2. Earl was 36 years old when this was recorded.

So it looks like he is planning to commit tomorrow between UT, Duke, and Arizona. Is it safe to say we don't feel good about our chances with how little I am hearing about him on OTF videos and forum?

I was surprised to see Texas just outside of the top quarter of the SEC in yards before contact per rushing attempt.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46927168/reranking-every-power-4-quarterbacks-two-months-2025-season This list has some wild rankings. Arch at 35? not saying he is the best qb in the ncaa, but definitely better than 35 behind the Rutgers qb? Ty Simpson at 11? Behind Taylon Green and Brendan Sorsby is hilarious

Steve Sarkisian was asked about the possibility of being the second team in the last six years to beat three AP Top 10 teams in a single season, as well as the grind of the leading Texas into the SEC as second year members: "This conference is grueling. You know every year, I think people look at schedules and (say) 'Oh, they got an easy schedule' or 'They got a hard one,' – you don't really know until teams start taking the field and you got to start playing. Teams deal with injuries, some teams don't. Teams fire their coaches, some teams don't. We have had a very challenging slate for sure. Of not only the quality of the opponents that we are playing, but also some…

Hi all, Joined OTF today just to keep up with my hometown team (I’m a Raider, wife is an Aggie, two Red Raider kids and another that’s starting her second year at Arkansas). Love seeing the ascension of Texas Football and pulling for them and the Razorbacks while hoping my Red Raiders don’t sh*t the bed. Here’s a whiskey over ice to everyone for a great deer season and an unforgettable year for the Horns! three weeks can’t get here soon enough!

Longhorn DB Health Update *** Sarkisian mentioned on Monday that the Texas safety room was back to strength with the return of Michael Taaffe, Jelani McDonald and Xavier Filsaime on Monday. Texas DBs Michael Taaffe and Xavier Filsaime were both rocking green non-contact jerseys on Tuesday. Jelani McDonald (concussion protocol) had no jersey designation and was a full participant. All three were active participants and as expected, all three are expected to be available on Saturday.
