A chance remains. We need Blake Baker to accept the Tulane job. https://www.louisianasports.net/2025/12/02/five-star-dt-richard-anderson-likely-delays-lsu-signing/top-stories/ 👀👀👀👀👀

Being reported by an LSU site that he isn’t signing with LSU tomorrow and will wait to sign. Then Richard Anderson posted a countdown to his signing on Instagram. One LSU site is saying that he has not shutdown his recruitment. Fake hype? Or real smoke? @Gerry Hamilton supposedly Frank Wilson won’t be RB coach and fans think he’s influencing Anderson.

  3. With all the crazy turnover in college coaching and player attrition, I’m fired up about the HC we have going into signing day, opportunity to finish off the year on a high note and enter his 6th year with a team that’s filled with balance of experience, athleticism and grit. Pulling for Sark and the staff to do a great job closing out this season’s recruiting class, retaining our core and adding in key spots as we grow from 25 and prepare for a great run in 26. Watching what Kiffin just did, leaving his playoff bound team for greener pastures, lots to be grateful on the 40 acres. Btw, I don’t blame him, you can’t rely on building team through portal every ye…

  4. Florida played 5 teams that are in contention for the CFP: @Miami vs Texas (true home game) @ TAMU vs UGA (neutral) @ Ole Miss These were all one score games in the 4th quarter. Which one doesn’t look like the other? Florida played 3 home SEC games and went 2-1, with a late loss to Tennessee after the team had already given up. Florida was a talented, capable team. Out of 5 good teams, they were due for one upset. We just happened to be the lucky team that caught them at the right time in the right conditions (no Muhammad, etc). Florida losing to USF also did not help. Florida truly was the most annoying team in CFB this year. …

  7. For a guy that’s often been under a lot of heat in these forums, gotta give credit where it’s due. What a week it was!

  8. 3 Stars of the Game vs. Texas A&M *** Star No. 1: Tre Wisner – Hard not to pick Wisner. For whatever the reason, he dominates against Texas A&M. A 155-yard performance on 19 rush attempts and a season-long 48-yard rush to kickoff the second half. Wisner was again very good and deserving of the game ball against Texas A&M. Star No. 2: Ethan Burke – This felt like a game early on where Ethan Burke was going to will his team to a win. The senior did just about everything and ended up blocking his second field goal attempt of the season in the first half when the offense was struggling to move the rock. Nine tackles, a TFL and a blocked…

(This is all eye test based, no mathematics are involved lol) Okay obviously Texas will most likely not get into the playoffs this season after the chaos didn't go our way, but we still just maybe might have a sliver of hope to get in after conference championship week. I know this is a shot in the dark, but say Alabama and BYU both lose next week, that virtually opens up one more at large bid assuming Virginia can beat 7-5 Duke to become ACC champions and get a bid for the playoffs. Also if Ohio State beats Indiana it would only boost our chances to be in. So, this in my opinion would be the seeding after next week, 1. OSU 2. Georgia 3. Indiana 4. Texas Tech 5. Oregon 6.…

  10. The end of the regular season has arrived, as has the final AP Top 25 before conference championship season. Texas comes in ranked No. 14. *** Ohio State Indiana Georgia Oregon Texas Tech Ole Miss Texas A&M Oklahoma Notre Dame Alabama BYU Miami Vanderbilt Texas Utah Virginia USC Michigan James Madison North Texas Tulane Arizona Navy Georgia Tech Missouri

  11. Both had huge games in the third round of the playoffs ... Chaminade-Madonna has started leaning on the 6-1, 210-pound Cooper in the playoffs with the games mattering much more. He posted 257 yards and a TD on 34 carries in Friday's win. He had 171 yards and 4 TD's on 14 carries in the playoff game prior. Cooper now has 1,391 yards and 17 TD's on 142 carries (9.8 ypc) in 12 games. Chaminade-Madonna now takes on Jax Trinity Christian Academy in the 1A state semi-final December 5. ------ Jermaine Bishop Jr. caught 15 passes for 328 yards and 3 TD's, picked off a pass, rushed for a TD and sold popcorn in the 38-32 win over Forney High. Bishop Jr. now has…

  12. I know that many will disagree. That’s why this site exists - to dialogue. Texas needs to focus clearly on one thing - The Playoffs. Period. It’s not about being scared. One less loss is all that matters. It’s fun and exciting to open the season with a NAME. We all get that. But, the ROI simply is not there. When our name does not show up in the bracket next Sunday, it will sting bad. This is avoidable with a strategic aim at what is more important. The SEC is a gauntlet enough. CDC - drop the game. It’s the smarter thing to do. I’ll trade that shiny game for the playoffs. This seems simple. Drop it! Hook ‘Em

  13. Other than the eventual playoff champ, Texas will most likely be the only other team that beat three playoff teams, and beat them handily! CFB just needs to make a super division of 60 or so teams and stop with the participation trophies to ND, the ACC and the Big 12. The SEC Championship game does nothing for the conference in the Playoff era. Just look at the numbers for the Texas OSU game to start the season! Let’s just have the best play the best and stop pretending that these other teams and conferences that do not value football like we do are at the same level. Sure they can catch a better team sleeping and pull out a one game upset, but that’s it. …

  14. https://www.nbcsports.com/college-football/news/projecting-the-new-college-football-playoff-rankings-how-close-can-texas-get# interesting read. She claims that she thinks Texas will behind BYU and ahead of Miami at 12. And that Texas should root for some blowouts on championship weekend and there is a plausible path to the playoff in that scenario.

  15. Another flip!! A fourth flip in the last week goes the way of the Texas Longhorns! This time, it is Temple EDGE/DL Jamarion Carlton, who had committed to Baylor over the summer. The Longhorns had hosted Carlton on campus three different times in the last month and sure enough, those efforts were enough to flip the 6-foot-5inch defensive lineman to the Horns. Carlton was heavily recruited by LaAllen Clark in the spring, got on campus for an official visit and after a brief stint being committed to Baylor, he ends up joining the Texas class. Big time addition for the Horns on the defensive side of the ball here. View full news story

A waste If anyone mentions - “but we beat Aggy and OU” Who cares. Now go spend big and win it all next year

  19. I keep seeing these rumors? Any truth to that?

  20. On Texas Football Forum · Started by Nostradaveyus,

Duke wins ACC, Troy wins Sun Belt. Icing on cake if Boise wins MWC. Duke would be 8-5 and the others 9-4 vying for final auto bid. Then what if BYU wins Big 12 and UGA wins SEC? Bama gets left out? This is the CFP breaker scenario. SEC and Big 10 would form their own playoff moving forward.

  21. OTF community discussion: Is Texas' 2026 schedule for difficult than 2025? I will first say, absolutely. No question about it in my mind. Non-conference: Texas State Ohio State UTSA ... all in Austin. Texas State and UTSA are better than any of San Jose State, SHSU or UTEP. SEC 9 game schedule: Road games: at LSU (Lane Kiffin year one) at Tennessee at Missouri at Texas A&M Neutral: Oklahoma Home games: Florida (Jon Sumrall year one) Arkansas (Ryan Silverfield year one) Ole Miss (new coach year one) Mississippi State (QB is going to be a problem for folks)

With majority of the coaching jobs filled for now, which rosters do you guys think Texas can have some success from in the portal? LSU will be tough now with Lane coming in and not sure what will be left of Ole Miss. Florida made a very meh hire in my opinion. I’d love Dallas Wilson and Baugh… Might be able to snag some big humans from Auburn too?

  25. Kiffin allegedly has told assistants that if they are not on the plane tomorrow they don't have jobs at LSU after the season. Apparently to put Keith Carter the ADs feet to the fire by threatening to tank their playoffs assistant pool if he doesn't get his way. He wants to have his cake and eat it too by taking the LSU job but coaching through the playoffs. Lines up with the college gameday talking points from Sexton clients herbstreit and saban. Unreal......
