CFP is all about the money 💰 and Arch/Texas delivered to make their 2025 Kickoff season the best ever. Sark laid out the narrative. The entire country will tune in to see Arch Manning play. There is no bigger DRAW than a Manning. College and Pro pundits/podcast/show will just love talking about Manning. Money talks and Stupid Walk. Media or the CFP will not blatantly admit it but bottomline it's ratings and money. Just slot Texas into the playoff! JC Horn

For anyone wondering ... Jamarion Carlton is definitely going to be a 5-tech, and long limb 3-tech down the line. On a November visit to Texas ... he weighed 281 pounds. Texas staff expects him to carry over 300 pounds in time, and maybe fairly quickly.

We've entered the era of NIL and 11-15 team playoffs (plus a handout). The punishment for losing to the #1 team in the country this year, in week 1, will be to miss the CFP (yes, with the other body of work, which would otherwise still place us top 10). I get why we did it, and I've enjoyed the matchups. But CDC should cancel the Ohio State, UM, and ND games coming up if that committee keeps us out. There is simply way, way more downside than upside, and you're going to get those great matchups in the playoffs instead. #changemymind

Texas entering into Steve Sarkisian’s fifth season on the Forty Acres as the No. 1 in the Associated Press Top 25 doesn’t guarantee anything. Still, the history of preseason No. 1 teams since 1998 — the first season in which the Bowl Championship Series decided college football’s national champion — is a sign that the Longhorns can almost bank on a prosperous season. The proof will be in the pudding, whether Texas is destined for a third consecutive trip to the College Football Playoff under Sarkisian. Regardless, there’s a baseline level of success that the previous 27 clubs voted No. 1 in the preseason by AP Top 25 voters has reached. — Only one of the 27…

Reading some of the posts this weekend and wow, there are some crazy extreme perspectives out there. Anyone feeling this morning that the season has been a ‘complete waist’ after likely not making the playoffs (even though we beat OU and A&M by double digits and improved by a mile from Sept to Nov)….. We all have a right to feel what we feel but damn, imo, that doom and gloom outlook is insane. Thinking about the journey the past 5 months (going back to the summer), I couldn’t be more proud to be a Texas Longhorn and a TexasEx (class of 93). Of course it’s disappointing the Horns likely won’t make the playoffs this season. They were the only team to mak…

Facing a 10-3 deficit at halftime of Friday’s showdown with No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 16 Texas headed into the locker room at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium needing its best second-half performance of the season under Steve Sarkisian to emerge victorious. Over the final two quarters of a 27-17 win, Sarkisian schemed up ways to move the football on the ground, Arch Manning kept extending plays with legs and the defense ended the Aggie offense’s last two possessions by intercepting Marcel Reed. The Longhorns dominated their counterparts from College Station, picking up a win that Sarkisian and the program desperately needed. Texas (9-3, 6-2 SEC) is the first team sin…

Jermaine Bishop with arguably the vest performance this season in Texas high school football. Pound for pound you can't convince me he's not the best player in the state. Immediate impact player. https://x.com/JScruggs247/status/1994988801400111562?t=yZvxlnc9Ve8X1A7p6LEDNA&s=19

Texas has a better resume than Alabama minus the Ohio St game. Case in point is Alabama. Don't schedule Ohio st and you clear Alabama's playoff resume.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but even if we somehow make it in, this team isn’t a true national contender and we should be honest with ourselves about that. If we end up as the first or second team out, we at least carry some momentum into the offseason, and the staff gets valuable time to evaluate needed changes. That extra time could help us set up for success going into 2026 and beyond especially when it comes to coaching and roster adjustments. Sark already has a lot on his plate, so missing out this year might actually be a blessing in disguise.

Can someone dig into this a little deeper and how some of these members are able to be objective and unbiased? Current ADs and former coaches with ties to schools. https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/selection-committee/roster/2025-26 I respect Ivan Maisel and his opinions but why in the hell would the AD of the Univ of Arkansas (for example) be in favor of letting Texas in? The AD of Utah?

I’ve been disappointed more than a few times this year, and I would personally freaking love it if we won it all. I remember shedding actual tears of joy when Vince strolled past the pylons on 4th and 5. But I didn’t become a fan JUST to see us win championships. I love this University. I like talking with my pops about Texas and updating him on the stuff I read on OTF. I like getting invested in the kids that wear burnt orange and watching them mature and respond. I love this team because I bleed burnt orange, not because they have the resources to win it all every year. I’m sorry, but to me, this chapter of the book that is UT’s story, that I can’t seem to put down, has…

Past, present, future Longhorns all chimed in after the win at DKR over Texas A&M. The Longhorns had a field day — and deservedly so.

2027 Recruiting Class Nuggets *** Texas landed a massive commitment from 2027 Brother Martin (La.) WR Easton Royal Saturday morning. I mentioned it on a thread earlier, but will reiterate – this is the most excited I have been for a commitment at the wide receiver position in the Sarkisian era. Royal has 10.3 speed and is fantastic with his hands and body control. Additionally, I don't believe LSU is going to be a significant factor – yet. That could change if LSU hires Lane Kiffin, but for now, there was no indication from my meeting in New Orleans last spring that LSU was going to be the frontrunner for Royal. *** Clear Leader Texas is…

This week, I have been thinking about the growth of the OL and QB, as well as many stud players having another year(almost) of experience. Not looking past the Aggies, but thinking about how we have been building for this year.... and how (relatively) young we are. In the past 2 drafts, we have had double digit players drafted. This year, i could see only a handful and those will be impacted by underclassman decision. (Taaffe and Burke are the only seniors I think will for sure get drafted- other possibilities will be listed below). In the past 2 years, we have had 5 first rounders, 5 second rounders, and 13 later round picks (and Isiah bond who should have b…

For those that didn’t see/hear this is another great troll from the Texas big board operator. Right up there with trolling Yormark https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2025/11/29/texas-trolls-texas-am-mike-elko-following-win-over-rival/87524248007/#
