A bit of something to monitor for the Longhorns in the 2025 cycle. Ohio State has added a commitment from Na'eem Offord. Offord is the No. 1 cornerback in the country according to On3's rankings. The Buckeyes' class now consists of Offord and North Shore star Devin Sanchez, which makes things a little bit more interesting for Dorian Brew. Texas was able to make a strong impression on the visit for the Junior Day where Brew remained on campus well after the festivities concluded. Brew is atop of the Longhorns' board at CB this cycle.

Even with that level of attrition, most national media types are suggesting the Longhorns should have as good or better season in 2024. Those things typically don’t square with one another. I was able to meet up late Saturday night with a source to pass along some interesting team notes as winter conditioning moves on. *** First off, one of the names I have heard that is making an early impression is freshman cornerback Wardell Mack. The 6-foot corner has been someone that has really adjusted to the world of college football and gotten off to a hot start. Next is DT Alex January, who has slimmed down about 10 pounds since he arrived to campus. Something to watch as Texas monitors its defensive tackle room, right now, it looks like January is taking the necessary steps to get onto the field early. Got a text late Saturday night in regards to a 2025 Bridgeland offensive tackle that recently visited Texas. Ryan Fodje is someone to keep a very close eye on for the time being in regards to a potential OU class addition. Texas hosted Fodje on the Junior Day where they offered for the first time on January 20. OU was Fodje’s first offer and Bedenbaugh has been pushing heavily to get the talented offensive tackle prospect into the class. Right now, I am expecting OU to find success with this recruitment. I watched this interview of Jake Majors on 3rd and Longhorn on YouTube and one of the points that caught my attention was Alex Okafor talking about how the culture is different with Sark with regards to former players. At about the 3:20 mark, Okafor talks about how while he was in the league, Herman did not allow him to use the weight room. I would think that you'd want NFL players to hang around the team to provide insight and support but I guess that's another reason I'm glad Sark's here.
