Sunday: Squaring Expectations

Featured Replies

I expect to improve every year till we break through and win it all - starting to feel good about Texas Football again and also ready to be hurt again…dammmit

IMO with the 12 team playoff format the minimum expectation moving forward should be 10-2. That record in the SEC would clench us a playoff both in most years. Anything better is that is icing on the cake.

I’m cautiously optimistic. We will have somebody step up but my mind keeps going back to not having Sweat and Murphy(I admit I’m glass half empty a lot of the times).
How many holding calls would they have drawn if we weren’t on the big 12 revenge tour last year?

The backend might have to hold up in press man more often than not in some games because we might need to crowd the LOS in order to stop the run, especially in the SEC. I’m also curious to see if we throw in more blitzes to generate pressure & confuse opposing QB’s. Thought Michigan did a great job at disguising where pressure was coming from against Washington in the championship & we just saw it last weekend in what the Chiefs did to the Ravens.

Definitely need to have a couple of guys step up (Sydir Mitchell and Jaray Bledsoe) ... but there will be another portal addition after the spring.
