Tip of the hat to Caitlan Clark for her achievement…Division I scoring leader! I realize that one of my favorite players from the past, “Pistol Pete” only had 3 years vs her four. But, let’s at least recognize that she is a premier player and a great representative of lady athletes. I am a proud father of a daughter who is accomplishing a lot in her chosen field. Hook ‘em for ALL of our athletes!

Last night the Longhorns offered 2025 tight end Linkon Cure. The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder, who hails from Goodland, Kan., was offered by Jeff Banks. Cure is considered to be one of the top tight ends in the country and is a four-star prospect by all recruiting services. He holds offers from many schools, including Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and more. This past season, he caught 42 passes for 946 yards and 14 touchdowns. A multi-sport athlete, Cure also plays basketball and runs track. He ran a 22.45 in the 200, 14.85 in the 110m hurdles, 39.32 in the 300m hurdles (state champion) and 6-2 in the high jump. View fu…

First & Only Texas recruit in his first year. He knew it would be a rough start, but he had a vision. He truly believed in my son and what he brought to the table. And in three years, we've went places Texas hasn't been to in years! This man will forever have my utmost respect! 9:39 AM · Jan 4, 2024 8K Reply Share this post

I sat down with the president of Lead1 Association Tom McMillen. McMillen’s group encompasses the top 130 football programs in the country, not all of the NCAA. I got his thoughts on where college sports is actually headed. View full news

So X posted on his instagram all the people who said awful things about him. I’m sure some of you seen. Well he choose my comment and it was also the only nice comment. Also X and his mom personally reached out to me and he sent me this right before Christmas. I may get some hate for posting this but we should always be grateful and not slander these young men.

This off-season, Texas is paying the price of winning. Yet another of Steve Sarkisian’s behind-the-scenes employees has left for increased responsibilities elsewhere. Bobby Merritt, who was responsible for breaking down opposing film and evaluating prospects in the portal for the Horns in 2023, has been hired by Rice University as its new general manager. The move has yet to be announced publicly but Merritt started with Rice on Friday. Merritt’s former boss at Texas, Billy Glasscock who was the director of player personnel for the Horns, left in January to become the General Manager for Ole Miss. That’s the price of winning. People will move up a…

Sunshine State 4-star defensive lineman Myron Charles (Port Charlotte, Fla./High) has the full attention of the Texas staff. And that includes Steve Sarkisian. Charles, 6-4 and 290'ish, received a first phone call from Steve Sarkisian earlier this week. "I talked to Texas this week," Charles told OnTexasFootball Saturday. "It was the head coach, defensive line coach and some other coaches. He (Sarkisian) said that I can be a huge part of what they have going on. And I'm a priority for them." Charles is beginning to get to know Kenny Baker more, but is waiting on a visit to get a true feel. “I’ve talked to him two or three times. I will know more when…

Oklahoma State a must win? Or need to win? The Texas Longhorns (18-10, 7-8) will take the court at 1 p.m. CST at The Moody Center against Oklahoma State firmly in the Big Dance after Tuesday night's win at Texas Tech. There is one big question heading into today's game. Is this a must win game? Or need to win game? Answers could vary. OnTexasFootball believes this is a "must win" game for Texas, and the reasons are simple. Why is Oklahoma State a "must win" game? The main reason for me is the latest Bracketology by ESPN's Joe Lunardi. The win Tuesday night instantly gave Texas the ability to end up a 7 seed if they win two of the last three. Lu…

After careful thought and consideration I will be humbly removing myself from the Heisman trophy ceremony until @VinceYoung10 gets his trophy back. Doesn't sit right with my morals and values that he can't be on that stage with us every year. Vince IS the Heisman trophy. Do the RIGHT thing @ReggieBush the ball is in your court.

Watching the Chris simms interviews at the combine I’m surprised the guys have no knowledge of who he is (at least Murphy and Sanders). The arch manning equivalent recruit of 1999. I guess kids out of hs pretty much only know who was good in their middle school and hs years. And anything further back is ancient history. Glad we are on our way back and kids can view Texas as a cool school again. 🤘

Texas baseball is gearing up for a 3 day stand in Houston, where they'll face off against three different teams. They'll start tonight at 7:00 PM, where they'll face off against No. 3 LSU. On Texas Football has learned that the Longhorns will start LeBarron Johnson Jr. on the mound, while LSU will trot out Luke Holman. This might just be the best pitching matchup we will see, regardless of team, in the month of March. For Saturday's matchup against Texas State (3:00 PM), the Horns will start Charlie Hurley. And on Sunday, when the Longhorns face off against No. 9 Vanderbilt (11:00 AM), Texas will start Cody Howard. TV Info: All of th…
