Yesterday the No. 24 ranked Longhorns made the trip to Lubbock, which saw them demolish No. 17 Texas Tech last night 22-8 in the first game of the series. One person who didn’t make that trip, however, was assistant/1st base coach Philip Miller. While there are reports out there that he is taking a leave of absence, On Texas Football does not expect Miller to return. Expect an internal promotion to fulfill this role.

Houston area 4-star EDGE locks in Texas visit Alief (Texas) Hastings EDGE Smith Orogbo was offered by area recruiter Jeff Banks January 22, 2024. Since that time, he has built a relationship with the Texas staff - Banks, Pete Kwiatkowksi and Steve Sarkisian. Orogbo, 6-5 and 215 pounds, told OnTexasFootball Monday night that he has locked in a visit to Texas April 6. That will be one of two big visit weekends around spring practice next month. John Turntine III visiting Texas in April Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley OT John Turntine III is making a visit to Texas April 13 per a source close to the recruitment. Turntine, 6-5 and 295, is an OnTexasFootball 5-star prospect in the 2026 cycle. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and running backs coach Tashard Choice were by the school in January to see the North Crowley prospects, headlined by Turntine. Why is KJ Lacy not getting the love from the recruiting sites? He's ranked anywhere from 110 to 141? On 24/7 he is the number 14 ranked quarterback in the 2025 class? Whereas the kid from duncanville is top 50? Steve Sarkisian see something in him that the ranking services do not? And how would you compare the kid from duncanville versus KJ Lacy? Four-star DL Floyd Guidry locks in Texas visit Spring (Texas) High defensive tackle Floyd Guidry has locked in one visit to Texas with a second soon to follow. Guidry, 6-1 and 285 pounds, told OnTexasFootball Sunday he will make an unofficial visit April 6 after a conversation with Kenny Baker last week.
