On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Hope everyone has a happy Easter!

  2. The Longhorns will attempt a series sweep of the Tigers at noon on SEC Network+. Jonah Williams will once again start in left field and hit eighth in the batting order. Also, Adrian Rodriguez is back in the lineup and will start at second base in place of Jayden Duplantier, while Ethan Mendoza remains in the DH role.

I know our safety room is loaded, but Haulcy is a straight up best player available/game changer. Is there any chance we kick the tires with him?

  5. Now in the portal.

  6. On Texas Football Forum · Started by Millard Nance,

Exciting game last night against Auburn…the bats were hot in the lower part of the order…5 through 9 made their mark. And what a start for Jonah Williams…2 hits and 3 RBI’s in first two at bats, and nearly outrunning the throw to first in the ninth inning.

  7. No word on the $$ (reportedly nowhere near the asked for $4 million) but at least he's playing near home. And his dad and 'uncle' are saying a big reason they left Tennessee was because they wanted Nico to play in a scheme that better prepares him for the NFL. Yeah, OK. Colin Cowherd was the first to report this story so a tip of the cap to him. 8. Holy $%it, he’s a monster at the plate, going 2 for 3 and 3 RBIs through first 6 innings. Massive power. Looks like a man at 17yrs old. This is starting to look like something really special for the next 3 years with Jonah Williams potentially dominating in 2 sports for the Horns! Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂

  9. Not a typo: Jonah Williams is batting eighth and starting in left field. The Longhorns go for the series win over the Tigers at 6 p.m. on SEC Network+.

  10. Per Texas, freshman phenom Jonah Williams will get the start tonight in left field. Although he’s seen some playing time this season, this will be his first start on the Forty Acres. Once the season concludes, Williams will “switch back” to football.

  15. Texas offensive lineman Malik Agbo has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, first reported by On3. Agbo, a former four-star recruit, was often used as a jumbo offensive lineman for the Longhorns during his time on campus or in a fullback in short-distance situations. In three seasons of play time, Agbo saw 171 total snaps. Best of luck to the PNW native!

  17. Bert Auburn announced this afternoon that he's entering the portal as a graduate transfer. After setting a school and Big 12 record with 19 consecutive field goals in 2023, when he was a first-team All-Big 12 performer while making 29 of 35 attempts, Auburn struggled in 2024. He was 16-for-25 on field goals in 15 games, including a combined 8-for-14 against Kentucky, Texas A&M, Georgia (SEC Championship), Clemson (CFP First Round) and Arizona State (Peach Bowl). Auburn's 1-for-3 performance in the Peach Bowl led to Steve Sarkisian opening the kicking competition. Will Stone kicked in place of Auburn in the Cotton Bowl loss to Ohio State, going 2-for-2 on ext…

  22. Man we have some impressive young men. Nice heads on their shoulders and I feel like Sark is counseling these young men well through the NIL stage of football. I’m sure it goes back to the parents, but Sark and his coaches do a good job of vetting the high school recruits. I’ll never complain about the long process Texas takes.
