2025 Alamo Heights ATH Michael Terry III has returned back to San Antonio following his official visit to Texas over the weekend. The question coming into the weekend was in regards to where he would fit on the field at the next level – with the idea of playing defense being floated as well. Terry would prefer playing offense, but the conversation is fluid at the moment with the Longhorns. There was a conversation about playing on the defensive side of the ball during the official visit this weekend. With 10.8 speed in his pocket, Terry brings plenty of athleticism to play just about anywhere. Texas pitched a linebacker/STAR role this weekend on defense. …

Texas will begin its busy month of official visits this weekend when six prospects in the 2025 class make it to The 40 Acres. Of course, we have seen Texas put on shows before while hosting official visitors. Whether it be exquisite foreign cars or extravagant welcomings, Texas delivers. OTF spoke with Houston (Texas) Dekaney and OTF 4-star WR/ATH Tanook Hines a few minutes ago. Hines met with Steve Sarkisian, Chris Jackson and other Texas coaches over the weekend. Texas told Hines they are recruiting him as a wide receiver, but defensive back is a position he could get a look at. OTF believes Texas is in an ascending position headed into the Notre Dame OV next weekend. Baylor is also scheduled for June 21-23. Hines visited USC last weekend, and Arizona State in late April. Hines said he plans to announce a decision in July. View full news story

According to Dr. Brett Wilkinson, the University of Texas has won its third Directors Cup in the last four years. Stanford needed to dramatically outscore the Longhorns in women’s track and field today to overtake Texas. But that did not occur. Texas athletics is headed by athletic director Chris Del Conte. Del Conte took the reins in Austin 2017. Under his stewardship the Longhorns have become the nation’s premier college athletic program. Texas has extended an offer to 2027 Denton Guyer defensive lineman Khyren Haywood following his performance at the Big Man Camp this afternoon. Haywood was golf carted from the camp over to Moncrief where he received a tour of the facilities and spoke with the Texas staff following the afternoon at the Bubble. The 6-foot-2-inch and 260-pound defensive lineman holds 14 offers at the moment, as the Longhorns join Oregon, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas Tech and several others. View full news story

Hoops report: Early returns The Texas Longhorns 2024-25 team has reported to Austin, and is in the gym daily. OTF picked up some early thoughts and returns around the program in the last 24 hours. Jayson Kent has been mentioned early on as an impressive pick up. Both physically (from a strength of frame stand point) and really knowing how to play the game. The "knowing how to play the game" is a theme around the program. Texas feels like Tre Johnson and the portal additions are going to be a better "know how to play" team this year. Texas hoops S&C coach Cory Schlesinger headed to the NBA Texas basketball strength & conditioning coach Cory Schlesinger is departing Texas and headed to the NBA. Schlesinger, who is considered one of the best in his field, is expected to take the same position with the Detroit Pistons. After losing multiple support staff members this offseason, it was expected that the Longhorns would be looking to fill certain roles. According to FootballScoop.com, Steve Sarkisian is doing exactly that and is now set to hire Arkansas Pine Bluff’s Chris Forestier as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Forestier was originally hired as UA-Pine Bluff’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach in March. Yesterday I gave you all my personal rankings of the SEC in its entirety. Texas came in 2nd behind Georgia, as most would expect and accept at the moment. I’ve been part of ranking recruits, at one level or another, since 1993. I’ve made some good calls, some bad ones and plenty in between. And I’ve learned a lot along the way. Big time out of state visitor Wednesday OnTexasFootball has learned that Sunshine State 4-star wide receiver and Oregon commitment Dallas Wilson (Tampa, Fla./Tech) is scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Texas June 5 per a source close to the recruitment in Tampa. Wilson, 6-2.75 and 185 pounds with 10 inch hands, was offered by the Longhorns in September of 2023. Special teams coach and area recruiter Jeff Banks made the offer to Wilson. OnTexasFootball was informed that Conroe (Texas) High 4-star cornerback Dorian Brew is making his visit to UCS this weekend around a local graduation of a family member on the mother’s side. The family is in the process of shuffling the OV schedule the remainder of the month, and Texas is expected to receive a weekend official visit (either June 14-16 or 21-23).
