On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Sad to report on the passing for former West Columbia coach, Jack Hays. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Hall of Honor and was well respected by his peers. He was my cousin and spent his some of his childhood chumming with my father. Both were coaches and both in the Hall of Honor. His daughter, Jenna Hays McEachern has written about Texas football and is as much of a source on information as her friend Bill Little. Condolences of his kids Jack Jr., Jenna and Colonel Jeff Hays Jeff Hays spent many years coaching at Air Force Academy after graduating from there. Service details are pending

  2. OTF: A target will be off the board soon OTF expects a target of the Longhorns to come off the board soon. The expectation is it will be to another SEC team.

  3. UPDATE 6:10 pm: Baker's father tells OTF they still intend on taking the official visit to Texas that's scheduled for June 12-14. RB target off the board.

  5. Was told top Texas TE target Brock Williams will be sorting out his official visit schedule this week. So be on the lookout for a date set. Texas, UGA, and Ohio State are the top three. Asked a source on when we could see a decision ... "No decision date is set yet, but it will most likely be no later than May." OTF continues to like where the Longhorns sit in this one.

  6. This is a serious question… Is Shohei Ohtani the best we have ever seen in pro sports … any sport? Hitting 3 HR’s and striking out 10 in 6 scoreless innings in an NL Pennant clinching game is otherworldly. We will very likely never see that done again, unless he betters it. He continues to defy and do things I never thought I would see a singular player or athlete do.

  10. This is a blast from the past, but I remember listening to this a long time ago and it showed up on my feed. Btw, SEC Guy is Lance Zierlein. I remember he would call in when Chip Brown and Sean Adams (RIP) had a morning radio show.

  14. Texas offensive lineman DJ Campbell was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the No. 200 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Campbell is the third Longhorn picked by the Dolphins in this year's draft, joining linebacker Trey Moore (fourth round, No. 130 overall) and safety Michael Taaffe (fifth round, No. 158 overall). Campbell, a former five-star recruit from Arlington (Texas) Bowie, started 43 games over the course of his career at right guard, providing the veteran presence on the O-line after roster turnover ahead of the 2025 season. Campbell is the fifth offensive lineman drafted from the Longhorns in recent years, joining Kelvin Banks, H…

  17. Texas linebacker Trey Moore was selected by the Miami Dolphins with pick No. 130 overall in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday. Moore, a product of Smithson Valley High School, split his career between UTSA and Texas, playing his final two seasons with the Longhorns.
