On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Texas QB commit Ty Knutson received an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon. Dia Bell won the Elite 11 a year ago and KJ Lacey was a participant as well.

  5. Jon Machota, who covers the Cowboys for The Athletic, has DeMarvion Overshown as a starter on his projected depth chart for the defense in 2026. He's also got PJ Locke in competition with Malik Hooker in the secondary.

  6. As an SEC member, I understand Texas (and other members) have handed their media rights over to the conference. I wish Texas would fight for all non-conference media rights in football to revert individually to members. That way UT can at least get paid well (astronomically, in some cases) for playing ar least one premier non-conference game each year. Why should conference members who play patsy non-c games financially benefit for Texas playing Buckeye St, Much, ND, etc?

  7. ...clearly #1: South Carolina. They got Jordan Lee who is similar to Tessa Johnson. But should be starting after Tessa gets drafted. LSU will be #2. Great portal additions and incoming recruits. Mulkey will have her easy schedule to work out the kinks and foster illusions of grandeur. She has some size in the front court too. Texas #3. We will be battling out. So much will depend on how quickly the new players adapt to playing offense and defense. Can Preston top or equal Rori? Kentucky #4: Great coach who has recruited and portaled really well. Strong returner too. OU: Aaliyah Chavez!

  9. Recruiting. It hasn’t been front of mind for many given spring training just closed, but it is really starting to heat up behind the scenes. Texas sits at nine commitments. That’s a solid amount. Yet with the month of April coming to an end, we will likely see that number at least double in the next 60 days. So naturally, recruiting is a primary focus inside the building. A few recruits will make decisions in the next 15-30 days, while most are targeting a June decision. A few others will take it into the football season. For Texas over the next month, it will be about closing out a couple of those major recruitments while getting ready for t…

  11. I asked this on Coffee and Football this morning, but below is a graphic I made for today’s show that lists the top ten receivers to play for Texas (stats wise). Do yall think there is someone on the team currently who could break the Top 10? Is it even possible now with the portal? Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

  13. The Longhorns will send Michael Winter to the mound for a midweek tilt against the Bearkats. The game is being streamed on SEC Network Plus.

  14. Oldacre got waived, however, Rori keeps making plays for the Mystics. Her and Amoore are two similar point guards. I am hoping they keep both as interchangeable parts.

  17. We will use Trinidad Chambliss as an example. Since a Mississippi judge has granted an injunction making him illegible would t that make him eligible only in Mississippi? What if a Texas judge ruled him to be I eligible? Could there be a situation where a player could be eligible in one state but not the others? Disregard that the 5 x 5 could make this irrelevant. @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel @Jeff Howe @Hank South @Gerry Hamilton

  18. Bobby and Hank showed, and talked, this graphic this afternoon on the OTF You Tube channel. SEC looks great but even better when you figure SEC has 2 less members than both B1G and ACC making their numbers. Average draft picks per member school: SEC. 5.44 B1G. 3.78 ACC. 2.11 Big 12 2.38
