IMO ... I support changes. 1. Kill all bowl games, they will have no value. 2. NO Automatic slots. 3. Reorg Committee. Raise number of participants so each member rates 1-30. From total votes, Top 24 in order are finalized. 4. Top 8 get Byes.

Found interesting. Did full 7-round mock. 14 total Texas players drafted, which would break the record of 12 set two years ago. I could also see January and Siani on this list. 1.3. Simmons 1.4. Manning 1.10. Coleman 1.17. Goosby 1.32. Jelani 2.36. Biles 2.45. B. Baker 2.54. Raleek Brown 3.68. Wingo 5.137. Smothers 5.167. Maraad 7.230. Hero 7.247. Masunas 7.254. Mosely

Longhorns Extend Offer to 2027 LB Sean Fox **** Jeff Banks is in the midwest this morning and made a stop through Warren Central High on the east side of Indianapolis where he extended an offer to 2027 LB Sean Fox. The 6-foot-5-inch, 225-pound linebacker has been on a tear this spring, earning offers from Notre Dame, Arizona State, Tennessee, Miami and Georgia. Fox is currently ranked as a composite top-300 prospect in the 27 class, following a junior season where he recorded five sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. Official visits have yet to be scheduled for Fox.

I've posted my support for this 24-team playoff model over the past year (8 home playoff games in round 1 hosted by seeds 9-16 followed by 8 playoff games hosted by first round byes, seeded 1-8) with the remainder of the playoff schedule resembling current format. Conference championship games (which have become a complete joke) go away and no team would have a crazy 3-4 week bye period in December. The Top 16 teams all host 1 playoff game at home. Love it. As usual, I expect to get blasted by others with the rationale that this expanded format somehow diminishes the regular season (suggesting, I guess, that the regular season is somehow an equitable barometer betwe…

Texas corners coach Mark Orphey stopped by IMG Academy this morning and ended up offering 2029 CB Carlos Lopez on the trip. I was told the visit from Orphey out to IMG was a surprise to Lopez, despite the young talented cornerback having visited Austin for the Texas spring game on April 18th. Lopez is now up to 15 offers, with USC, Oregon, UCLA, Texas A&M and Miami being the most notable. Really talented ballplayer out at IMG currently.

Texas makes the cut for Sierra Canyon (Calif.) DL Marcus Fakatou. Fakatou spoke recently with @Hank South after visiting for the Texas spring game where he mentioned the Longhorns were in the top three for his recruitment. Texas is right in the thick of things for the 6-foot-7-inch, 275-pound defenive lineman.

It’s debatable where Texas should be slotted in the host of post-spring practice rankings being published, with CBS Sports, ESPN and USA Today placing the Longhorns among college football’s top five clubs in 2026. What can’t be disputed is that Steve Sarkisian’s squad is facing a difficult schedule in his sixth season. ESPN’s Bill Connelly and CBS Sports believe the 12-game slate is the toughest in the country, with Texas set to face eight teams included in CBS Sports’ post-spring rankings, six post-spring ranked opponents from USA Today’s too-early Top 25 and eight of the 20 highest-rated teams in Connelly’s most recent SP+ rankings. The 2025 schedule had a cas…

These are the first rankings I've seen released since the Sorsby situation came to light. Texas is No. 3, behind No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Notre Dame:

Feel like we could use a general thread to discuss all the other games. Of note, SMU right before selection Sunday announced that BJ Edwards would return from injury for the tournament. And (absolute shocker) he’s not playing tonight. Committee got duped.

He makes a very strong case. The staff expected him to contribute, but I don't think they expected Pack to thrive like he has throughout SEC play.

Stive-Bentley Keumajou will announce his decision on Wednesday. He's down to Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Texas. He visited Austin earlier this spring for the Friday night practice. While he enjoyed his time and intended on coming back for an OV, Florida is trending ahead of his announcement this week. Prediction: Florida
