Stopped by Lovejoy to see newest Texas commit Daylan McCutcheon in action this morning. McCutcheon looks as smooth as any WR you will find in the state of Texas in his routes. I would argue he would contest any Longhorn in a route competition the moment he steps foot on campus in January for that title as well. McCutcheon is back in Austin this weekend for the Georgia game, his second time on campus in a month (he visited for Miss State). I have a crazy theory that the reason Quinn always seems to have shaky starts in big games is because he doesn’t change his routine, which includes an extremely heavy sniff of smelling salts before drives, in big games, and that plus the increased crowd energy has him too amped. A few really positive things about Saturday that no one is talking about. Auburn has looked off all year, even on made kicks and extra points the ball hasn’t been coming off his foot right. Every kick after the back to back miss on Saturday was the first time he looked like the consistent ball striker he was last year with the consistent flight he had been getting. Just wanted to give a shout out to the Texas coaching staff. They are working together better than I was expecting. What Kenny Baker is doing with the DL is big time. LBs are playing really well, and the DBs have been solid. Was not that long we were calling for new DB coaches, and now they have found their groove. Change in concept, or is the entire staff finally on the same page. Who get the credit? Who cares, it's working. No need to go over the offensive coaches, they're killing it this year as well.
