A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. The Longhorns landed their third portal prospect this offseason, this time from Kent State outfielder Sawyer Solitaria. After visiting Tennessee on Thursday, the former MAC Freshman of the Year took in a visit to Texas on Friday, right before the NCAA dead period began. He chose the Horns over Georgia, Tennessee and Texas A&M. This past season Solitaria went .294 at the plate, driving in 47 RBIs and hit 16 home runs. Solitaria is considered a top 100 draft prospect for the 2027 MLB Draft and is expected to contribute immediately.

  2. With 77 days until Texas kicks off the 2026 season, it’s time to recognize some of the best Longhorns to ever wear No. 77. The headliner is unquestionably Kenneth Sims. A two-time All-American, 1981 Lombardi Award winner, College Football Hall of Famer and the No. 1 overall pick in the 1982 NFL Draft, Sims remains one of the most dominant defensive players in Texas football history. His 322 career tackles, 29 sacks, 50 tackles for loss and school-record 15 forced fumbles speak for themselves. Right alongside Sims is Brad Shearer, the 1977 Outland Trophy winner and Consensus All-American. Shearer was a force in the trenches, piling up 334 career tackles while hel…

  5. Jim Schlossnagle and the Texas baseball program secured a transfer portal commitment from St. Mary’s catcher Ian Armstrong on Saturday. Armstrong’s commitment, which he announced on Instagram, fills one of the Longhorns' most significant roster needs with one of the top prospects available in the portal. After Carson Tinney’s All-American season at (.326/.483/.688 with 22 home runs and 58 RBI) and behind the plate (ABCA Division I Rawlings Gold Glove winner) in 2026, and Rylan Galvan’s an All-American campaign during Schlossnagle’s debut, Texas couldn’t afford to take a significant step back at a position upon which Schlossnagle puts a high value when building his ro…

Who’s a couple of recruits in the 27 class y’all would like to see in a Texas uniform? For me it has to be Jacob Gouda or KJ Green, or DJ Jacob’s. Man those guys are great.

  10. Are there any W fans here, if so what's your take on the season so far? For me ROTY: Olivia Miles DPOY: A'ja MVP: A'ja MIP: Natasha Howard Best looking team Aces with Lynx in a close second. Biggest surprise so far is Portland and Toronto, but then again after the success of GSV last year they really shouldn't be. I mean other than the officiating, this has been one of the more competitive seasons in recent memory. Oh, if anyone has a grasp on what's a foul and what's not or what constitutes as a legal screen please let me or the officials know.

  12. Aggy musings. Let's go back to a few years , Aggy has just learned that they have been betrayed by the SEC and that evil Texas has been invited and is going to be a new member of the Southeastern conference. In response aggy panics, screaming they had been promised to be the only Texas team in the conference. The howling is so sever that in retaliation they decide to spend Elon Musk type money to sign the highest rated class (2022) of all time just to beat the sips. Mercenary magic didn't work, Jimbo gone, Elko in! Fast forward to 2026. After losing the first two games vs Texas by double digits each with conference titles on the line and with two of thei…

  13. Jim Schlossnagle will be looking for a new Associate Head Coach. Nolan Cain has left the Longhorns and is returning to College Station to join Michael Earley’s staff. Cain had a significant role in the recruiting side of things. Now Schloss will be back on the hunt to fill out his staff.

  15. Think about this. How good will all Texas sports be next year. Football is loaded and should be one of the favorites to win the national championship. Both men and women's basketball should also makes deep run in the NCAA with the Women's should be a favorite to win a championship. Women's volleyball should easily be a top five and have a shot at winning another national championship. Women's soccer should be competing for an SEC Championship Always women's rowing competes for national championships and should next year as well Women's tennis and men's tennis are always competing for championships and should next year as well Women'…

  16. What will Coach Boom do now to complete this defensive Class. Anyone expect any surprises or do we bring in some developmental players and call it a day. I expect a surprise win on one of these recruits and maybe a Senior riser stud or two.

  18. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-draft-proposal-high-school-international-cba-negotiations/ MLB proposing changes to draft eligibility in new CBA, eliminating high school eligibility and lowering the draft age to 20. Would be huge for college programs and Texas if it goes through.

  19. The simplest explanation as to why Texas’ time at the College World Series ended after three games, two of which were losses to Georgia, including a 2-0 season-ending defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs on Tuesday, is that the offense didn't do enough to back up an overall winning performance by the pitching staff. The Longhorns got the bulk of their production in Omaha from the middle of the order, with Ethan Mendoza, Anthony Pack Jr. and Adrian Rodriguez doing most of the damage Jim Schlossnagle’s bats inflicted. Those three, who could all potentially return to form the nucleus of the 2027 squad, went a combined 17-for-34 at the plate, scored seven of the team’s 1…

  21. We’re 79 days away from Texas football, and today’s countdown features Terry Tausch, Tony Hills and Ben Adams. Tausch was a consensus All-American, Hills was an All-American and national champion, and Adams earned All-American honors during the Mack Brown transition era. Current No. 79: Jonte Newman.
