Their nonconference schedule is tougher than tech or IU

Four things on my mind before the Longhorns hit the practice field
Good stuff! Besides Terry, who do you feel might be a disruptive interior DL who really gets push into the backfield? Kanu & Watson should. For some reason I feel January might surprise.

Billy Ray Smith passes away
His time at Arkansas coincided with mine at UT. He had 63 TFL. I looked it up but couldn't find individual game stats. It felt like he had that many the afternoon Arky upset us in 1981. We'd just come off a big win in the Shootout! The Posse was packed with us all expecting a big win. He & their D were dominating. Those of us who finished the game ended up the same as if we won, except it was from drowning our sorrows.

Steve Sarkisian, Pete Golding continue to keep things cordial in public | Thursday, 11:03 a.m.
Jeff, I agree. If you negatively recruit, it's got to make one wonder why you can't just sell your program. Why are you so concerned about the competitor across the road?

64 Days Until Kickoff: Who Is Your Favorite No. 64? (Hampton vs Studdard)
This might be the most solid quartet to wear a single number. I'm old enough to have watched 3 of the 4. My dad told me many times over the years about Bedrick's stop. Especially, during SB III while Broadway Joe pulled his Babe Ruth pointing to the fence shot. Still Hampton has to be the highest. A NT leading a team in tackles...

Don't sleep on 2 time national champion & all American Bill Atesis!

Uh oh - Royal
This is the most honest post I have seen. " a wife & 2 daughters" . . . You're definitely not looking for drama. BTW, JoeZ keep the posts coming. Something about your humor resonates in Thailand! Hook 'em Bad Boy from the Badlands π€πΌ

Joey McGuire cancels press conference prior to Houston TD Club
Won't matter if he buys a couple of semis worth of lipstick! No matter how much he uses. This pig will still be ugly and stink!

88 Days Away From Kickoff: Who Was The Best No. 88?
Minor correction, the 1969 Cotton Bowl stats were vs Tennessee. The 1970 Cotton Bowl vs ND, he wasn't as prolific.

Texas Rowing - LIGHT THE TOWER!
Thanks for sharing. I missed watching it live. Our 8's were incredible. I couldn't tell why, but the start probably wasn't their plan. Yet they almost won with open water and nearly 3 second margin. As the commentator pointed out, this is about 1 minute faster than 25 years ago. @Bobby Burtonmight be a bit of interesting content for OTF to see the training routine of these olympic sports athletes. They do it for love of sport & very little NIL Certainly not to be in the hearts of Longhorns everywhere. We cannot follow them all. Yet they are an incredibly important part of the UT fabric.

Texas Tech: The Faces of Desperation
Flynn, This is an instant classic; please move to the head of the satire line! You regulars that are amusing. The gauntlet has been thrown down. Joe Z, I know you have it in you to accept the challenge!

Joey McGuire...
Did I understand this correctly? He's already finished his treatment and is getting ready to return to campus? BTW, Joey, yes everyone deserves a second chance. It's just not in colleee football after gambling on your own team. As a Dad, I would do everything in my power to keep my son from going from high school to manhood with someone whose core values are so flexible as yours! Also, did you ever kick someone off your team for violating team rules?

Billy Dale would be a great interview. He volunteered to room with Julius Whittier when Coach Royal asked seniors if they would. Julius & he remained good friends & he has written about how the team integrated. Perhaps the younger readers need to know it wasn't as simple as Julius putting on his uniform. Anyway I have always admired Billy Dale. plus he scored the winning TD in the 1970 Cotton Bowl. A plunge over the goal line. Maybe he should be a red zone advisor for the team. π
