Texas is following rules that have no consequences and that was on full display. As it relates to Rev share, why should we follow Rev share, when we could pay $25 mill for a recruiting class every year? We could literally have $45+ million rosters a year, but we don’t because we “follow the rules.” Don’t think we should do that anymore. We should just unleash the Death Star and open up the wallets like never before.

We are 89 days away from Texas football, so today’s countdown turns to the best Longhorns to ever wear No. 89. The top spot, in my opinion, has to go to Charlie Talbert. Talbert played at Texas from 1961-63 and was a two-way starter at receiver and defensive end. He was the leading receiver on the 1963 national championship team, finishing that season with 14 catches for 188 yards and a touchdown, and he also recorded an interception and a defensive touchdown during his career. He has six kids and his son, who is a Junior, is a player. Ricky said he's a receiver. He is a professional astrologer and stays busy writing code for astrology apps. He also does appearances and bleeds burnt orange. As I mentioned earlier, I was in grad school at Texas when he played for us. I had a class next to his and we used to chat it up being we were both Californians. I love the guy.

Has Texas had a better sports week than 5/31 thru 6/6??? Probably not. Sun 5/31 Texas Rowing wins Natl Championship AND Texas Baseball sweeps Austin Regional. Thur 6/4 Texas Men's Golf ties for 3rd in Natl Championships AND Texas Softball sweeps Texas Tech for National Championship. Sat 6/6 Texas wins first game against Oregon in the Austin Super Regional. One more win puts them in their 39th (Thirty-Ninth!!!) CWS. And I don't know where we stand in outdoor track & field. Just a GREAT week.
