With the “Manning might come back for 2027” comments and the line up behind him, makes you wonder which QBs we will see start between 2027 to 2030 range. Lacy—Bell—Knudsen—Laurence What a great situation to ponder.

Texas infielder Casey Borba has announced his return to school. As I had reported previously, Borba was on the fence about testing the MLB Draft, but was leaning toward returning to Austin. Now Jim Schlossnagle gets a veteran infielder back in the fold.

Texas Tech Leadership (or lack thereof) and our Texas Atty General look even more like f’ing morons after the CFL followed the NFL’s lead, sending a clear signal. Brandon Sorsby is not allowed to play or be under contract in their professional league. It’s becoming more and more clear, with all the threats of lawsuits and the way he responded to the NCAA ban by seeking injunction, Sorsby may never play football again. Love to see Texas Tech exposed for what they are, a school willing to sell their soul at all cost for ‘respect’ and the exact opposite happened in the process. If the SEC and Big 10 ever add more teams, I can guarantee you one team on the…

Today is the anniversary of the historic 2003 NBA Draft, which featured TJ Ford going No. 8 overall to the Milwaukee Bucks. A few years ago, I was listening to a Bill Simmons podcast with Chad Ford (ESPN’s draft guy in 2003), who told the following story about how Michael Jordan was in the process of buying the Bucks on draft night in ‘03. Ford said his sources in Milwaukee told him that the Bucks took the player MJ wanted with the eighth pick, which was TJ. MJ didn’t end up buying the team. Still, I think it’s a cool story:

We're now 71 days away from kickoff and continue our countdown. For No. 71, Leo Brooks is the headliner. He was an All-SWC defensive tackle, part of the 1969 national championship team and later played seven seasons in the NFL, earning a Pro Bowl selection. Chris Hall deserves a lot of love, too, with 45 career games, 37 starts, starts at all five OL spots, All-American honors and a Rimington Trophy finalist nod in 2009. And we’ve got to include Ray Dowdy, who lettered in 1970–71, was part of the 1970 national title team and earned All-SWC honors in 1971. The current No. 71 is offensive tackle Melvin Siani. Who is your favorite?

Texas 5-star WR commit Easton Royal weighed in at 214.2 pounds at The Opening. Not carrying bad weight, but he's pretty close to tap out, of course will look different in college with S&C program

Unlike other positions within the program, Texas is still trying to find the sweet spot in balancing transfer portal acquisitions and high school recruits along the offensive line. The Longhorns didn’t go into the portal for trench help until last season’s results, or lack thereof, forced Steve Sarkisian’s hand. Still, while Texas came out of the most recent portal cycle with a plug-and-play tackle (Melvin Siani), a likely starter at guard (Laurence Seymore), a potential future starter on the interior (Dylan Sikorski), a developmental swing player (Jonte Newman) and a projected depth piece (Paris Patterson), Lucas Rhoa (Orange, Calif./Lutheran) committing to the Long…

I hear national media members talk about how Texas has an advantage because its the best show in town in a major city. As a Longhorns and NHL fan (Pens and Avs primarily), I wanted to hear what some other sports people in the Austin area feel about potentially getting a pro team. Did you hear about this yet? Would you support a team if it was in Austin? Have you ever watched a hockey game before? Honest opinion, hockey is the most exciting major sport to watch and play. Even though I love football (I played at the University of Toledo), the commercials and constant breaks in action can really get on my nerves watching cfb compared to hockey. If you haven't giv…
