Austin – No. 4/3/3 Texas Football junior QB Quinn Ewers was named to the Davey O'Brien Postseason Great 8, the Davey O'Brien Foundation announced Wednesday. Ewers was honored for his performance against fourth-seed No. 10/10/12 Arizona State in the CFP Quarterfinal/Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, a game in which he led the Longhorns to a 39-31 overtime victory on January 1 in Atlanta. In that game, he completed 20-of-30 passes for 322 yards and three touchdowns in addition to scoring a rushing touchdown. With the game in the balance, Ewers threw critical touchdown passes on consecutive plays in the overtime sessions. The first was a 28-yard score to WR Matthew Golden on…

What are the hottest takes yall have had throughout your time as a Longhorn fan regarding Texas Football that most Texas fans would probably disagree with. i'll Start, If David Ash never had the injury problem he did, he would have been a top 5 QB in history for the program and Texas would have gone to at least one NY6/BCS bowl game.

Bradshaw was an important piece for North Crowley's defense en route to a state championship this season whilst defeating Duncanville, Allen, Westlake and Coppell. Clearly, at a critical point in the season. Lunardi still likes their chances to get in. I, however, do not. Stagnation, lack of ball movement, reliance on iso drive and 1v1 shot creation without action/gap creation seems to be overwhelming issues offensively. Defensively, it appears they only lock in for long stretches when they are scoring, which creates issues in its own right. How is everyone else feeling? What is the threshold for RT getting another year? Maybe we can liven the basketball interest up, there seems to be some good basketball discussion from time to time on here.

The Texas coaching staff is on the road in DFW this afternoon and have extended a new offer to a 2027 defensive lineman. 2027 Cedar Hill Jalen Brewster has reported an offer from The University of Texas. Brewster is listed at 6-foot-4-inches and 300 pounds and now has collected offers from both Texas and Texas A&M in the last 72 hours. Oklahoma is going to be a team to watch here early on, but the Longhorns continue to make in-state defensive line recruiting a priority. Offer List: Arizona State Baylor North Texas Oklahoma Penn State Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech UTSA

With the ruling last week that it is not necessary to enter the Portal to transfer AND the deadline moved to Feb 7th for 4 year players to remove themselves from the draft, has the NCAA created an unintended window for Universities to recruit players that have declared for the draft?

Has anyone broke down the play when Texas had 3rd & 3 from the 7 yrd line against OSU. Ewers throws over the middle into double coverage and luckily gets a PI call. No way that pass had a chance of being completed. Trey Wisener was wide open on the left side with a blocker in front (Juan Davis) with only one man between them and the goal line. Ewers never looked in that direction.

After watching our 1st half fall apart, I figured some thought and analysis on "prevent" defense was warranted. Most of us probably felt this is the case, but nice to know when they line up like this, we aren't crazy for feeling anxious: The "prevent" defense is a widely debated strategy in football, particularly in late-game or end-of-half situations where the primary goal is to prevent big plays rather than aggressively stop shorter gains. While it has its uses, statistics and analysis often criticize it for several reasons: 1. Yards Allowed Increase Statistics: Teams utilizing the prevent defense tend to allow more yards per play compared to their…
