When was the last year we had a QB healthy for a full season? and who was it? Was it Sam? Just randomly thought that and figured here would be the fastest response.

Love reading that Sark is interviewing OSU assistant LaAllan Clark to possibly fill new position on defensive staff, focused on developing defensive end pass rush. Looks like he’s trained over 50 NFL Defensive Ends. Hope this happens as Sark keeps raising the bar. Texas QB Arch Manning has announced an NIL deal Red Bull. A rather significant NIL partnership as Manning becomes just the second college football athlete in Red Bull’s collection of athlete representatives joining Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State.

@Gerry Hamilton@CJ Vogel@Bobby Burton Would love to see an article going into more details on NIL. What are players in certain position groups making? What types of deals are they? It's a very complicated system and I think very misunderstood as many probably think the school is paying directly with the funds at the coach's discretion. Would be interesting to understand further. Thanks!

Just got ran across this story when looking up practice reports for our guys playing in Senior bowl / East-West shrine bowl... Jaydon Blue drops out of East-West Shrine Bowl Surprised by the bluntness of the quotes, would've expected a more PC, diplomatic approach if there was even a chance of there being a reasonable excuse. And definitely surprised his agents hadn't manufactured one if there wasn't - ha! Not a good look, especially considering some of his back story. Hope it's much ado about nothing and he succeeds in the league.

Hero Kanu has really good ball get off for a DT, would be surprised if he’s not a great interior pass rusher with 2 years under Kenny Baker.

Today marks a week since I’ve been banned from an OU site. I’m assuming they have eyes here and saw the screenshots I posted in the OU hate week thread. Anywho, I subscribed to the website after Riley departed and Venebles was brought in. A few notes according to that site and it’s subscribers: It was believed that the program was already deteriorating under Riley, Grinch, and Wiley. That there wasn’t a culture of accountability and Wiley was/is seen as Billy Blanks when it came to strength and conditioned. The believed BV was an upgrade and they thought they would see immediate results in his first season (as they believed they didn’t lose a lot) …

Texas has extended an offer to 2027 five-star EDGE Richie Wesley. Wesley, a 6-foot-5-inch, 250-pound edge rusher, attends Sierra Canyon in California and is currently ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the country in the early composite returns. The Longhorns become the 18th school to extend Wesley an offer as the Texas staff continue their five-star search on the recruiting trail at the moment. Offers for Wesley Arizona State Cal Colorado State Florida State Georgia Miami Minnesota Oklahoma Oregon San Diego State SMU Tennessee Texas A&M UCLA USC W…

Jeff! So happy to see you join OTF! Does this reunion with Rod Babers mean more Longhorn Blitz episodes? I’ve been a longtime listener of the Blitz. You guys got me through some rough Charlie Strong and Tom Herman seasons and it was always a nice highlight of my week seeing a new Longhorn Blitz episode drop. I understand why the episodes stopped given you and Rod were with competing companies but I hope you can get a new show going now that you’re both at OTF. I don’t know where Matt’s working now but I hope he could drop in once a week too at least. Ya’ll covered so many depressing seasons dating back to the end of the Mack era, the forgettable Ch…

Mobile, Alabama — the home of the 2025 Senior Bowl and where j will be lying my head for the next couple of nights. Originally, five Longhorns were expected to participate for the week of workouts and on-field activities in front of scouts, coaches and executives ahead of the NFL Draft in April. However, only Barryn Sorrell is listed on a Senior Bowl roster at the moment. Andrew Mukuba, Alfred Collins, Gunnar Helm and Vernon Broughton had all accepted invitations to the Senior Bowl, though due to the length of the Texas senior, they will not be active this weekend in Mobile. Regardless, I will keep this thread active for updates on opponents Texas faced …

A name to know ... one of the nations best According to a longtime source in the Midwest, the Texas Longhorns are expected to jump all in on 2027 4-star++ OT Maxwell Hiller (Coatsville, Pa./Area High). Hiller, 6-5 and 300-pounds, received a visit from offensive line coach Kyle Flood Monday. The source tells OTF that the Texas Longhorns will be very much in the thick of the race. In fact, Texas will be in the top 2, if not the favorite when offering. Texas' competition will be Penn State for sure. An unofficial visit this spring is expected.

After wins at home over Missouri and Texas A&M, will Texas make the NCAA Tournament? Wanted to get the pulse of the OTF community Texas is 14-6 and 3-4 in the SEC The Longhorns will need to get to 7-11 to have realistic shot. That would likely be a play in game. 8-10 would likely be a 11'ish seed. So Texas has to at least win 4 of the last 11 to get to 7 wins. And the schedule is tough: @Ole Miss @LSU Arkansas @Vanderbilt Alabama Kentucky @South Carolina @Arkansas Georgia @Mississippi State Oklahoma
