On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. An interesting article from on3 about the alleged fraud from ProKick Australia https://www.on3.com/news/report-allegations-of-fraud-arise-in-pipeline-between-australian-players-college-football/

  2. Hoops: Texas vs. No. 2 Alabama Game Thread Texas is in need of a huge win after dropping games to Arkansas and at Vanderbilt last week. This chore is a tough one tonight in Austin with No. 2 Alabama (20-3, 9-1) in Austin. The Longhorns (15-9, 4-7) will again be without junior guard Chendall Weaver with his return likely next week. Senior guard Tramon Mark has been upgraded to probable. The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. central on ESPN.

  3. NFL Network/NFL.com released a three round Mock Draft and eight Longhorns made the list, including two in the top 14. Interestingly enough, they have Horns QB Quinn Ewers being the third Texas player taken in the draft at No. 33 overall. Full draft: https://www.nfl.com/news/three-round-2025-nfl-mock-draft-round-one

  4. Since no one had started a thread, I will start it. Two game losing streak, big opportunity at home. If you think we have no chance, you should call your local bookie very soon and pound Alabama (-4.5/-190 ML). How are we feeling?

  5. A couple of mid-week trips as the recruiting cycle awaits its next period in the month of March. The first to Georgetown East View HS, home of 2026 LB Tieson Ejiawoko and the next out to Bastrop HS Wednesday AM to see 2026 DL Tiki Hola. *** 2026 Georgetown East View LB Tieson Ejiawoko A January offer by the Longhorns is one to keep an eye for the 2026 cycle. Texas officially joined the race for the Texas Tech commit on the January 25th Junior Day. Prior to that, Pete Kwiatkowski made the trip out to East View and only four day after, Johnny Nansen made the trip as well. Steve Sarkisian has just started to get involved her as well. Ejiawoko is cur…

  8. Just a smidge over ten weeks away from the 2025 NFL Draft and 16 days away from the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. While we sit a wait for the actual progressions to take place, I wanted to theorize with you all to find perfect Draft fits for each Longhorn hopeful. Whether it be scheme fit, style of play of success from previously drafted players, I thought this would be a fun practice. Starting position by position, let's get to it. *** QB Quinn Ewers – Los Angeles Rams There were only a few teams that I see as fits for Quinn Ewers, which is fine when you consider 18 quarterbacks are making north of $30,000,000 per year currently. There is an obvio…

  9. Per CDC Oh, and one update for your calendar's folks. Our home football game with Sam Houston this fall is moving up a week to September 20. It was originally scheduled for September 27 but will now be played a week earlier closing out our non-conference schedule that includes a road game at Ohio State (Aug. 30), and home games with San Jose State (Sep. 6), UTEP (Sep. 13) and Sam Houston (Sep. 20). We'll have a bye-week Sep. 27 then open SEC play at Florida (Oct. 4).

Through the ups and downs David Gbenda made big plays in the playoff, and had the game of his life against Ohio State. Love a program guy and always wish those plays, the pick, for those guys could have been en route to a natty.

  13. Brad Spence senior HUDL was very impressive ... he took his physicality up a few notches http://www.hudl.com/v/2J8xrw

  14. The search for the next Texas defensive backs coach continues on after Blake Gideon took the Georgia Tech defensive coordinators position. One name that has been passed on to me as a candidate for the opening is current Notre Dame DB coach Mike Mickens. Mickens has been on staff at Notre Dame since 2020, where he was the cornerbacks coach until making the jump to the Defensive Backs coach in 2024. In 2020, Mickens coached with Terry Joseph on the staff at Notre Dame. Before Notre Dame, Mickens had stops at Cincinnati, Bowling Green and Idaho, all as cornerbacks coach. He graduated from Cincinnati and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 7th round of th…

  15. Chris Del Conte sat down with Newy Scruggs from NBC5 in DFW. Interview just aired tonight in Dallas and reveals some very personal insights into CDC, how his parents raised him, his dad’s tragic death 25 yrs ago, how he approached several big coaching hires at UT and more. Great interview. in addition to CDC being phenomenal at his job in building the #1 College Athletics dept in the country, he’s such an authentic and likable man who comes from very humble beginnings. Love how he represents the horns and hope he stays for decades to come. Hook em!! 🤘🏼🐂🧡

  17. What do you think is the most impressive of these all-time records? I'm sure I missed a few. If you got another one to mention-post below. I was just looking around and saw an article about it. So, I was wondering what the board would think was the best one. Britt Hager's 195 tackles in 1988 Kiki DeAyala's 22.5 sacks in 1982 Colt McCoy's 76.7 completion percentage in 2008 D'Onta Foreman's 13-straight 100-yard rushing games in 2015-16 Ricky Williams' two straight games with 300 rushing yards in 1998

  18. The latest Mock Draft from NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund is surprising to me. The mock has three Longhorns going in the first round, but not exactly where you would think. https://www.nfl.com/news/cynthia-frelund-2025-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-shedeur-sanders-to-saints-steelers-among-5-teams-to-go-wr
