I had an unexpected family situation come up, so I won’t be able to attend the game this weekend. Trying to sell my 2 tickets last minute here, not sure if it’s allowed. My tickets are in section 2 row 44 with seatbacks. Looking to get $200 for the pair, just trying to get my money back. Sections 2 is in the lower bowl close to the south end zone.

https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/aj-mccarron-sounds-alarm-alabama-nil-reality-after-florida-state-loss Bama is the #2 team in talent composite with 14 former 5* and 50 former 4* on roster. FSU is 19th with 1 former 5* and 36 former 4* on roster. It ain't NIL or recruiting. He's just sad that it would cost $20 million just to have the RB depth Bama used to have. That's a Bama education at work, folks.

I believe Sark was intentionally conservative with his play-calling against Ohio State. He has mentioned that opposing defenses often play differently than what is seen on tape when they face Texas. It seems he is cautious about revealing his strategies too early, which allows opposing coaches to better prepare against Texas. I’m not implying that Sark didn't call plays with the intention to win; Texas had several opportunities to secure a victory but failed to capitalize on them.

Wanted to share my final thoughts on Arch Manning ahead of the non-conference action over the next three weeks. I think Arch Manning will be fine. The quickest way to elevate his game is to truly trust that offensive line which played admirably against Ohio State last Saturday. Trust in the offensive line will do a few things: 1. Slow down the game, allowing Arch to read his keys instead of skipping chapters to find a check down. 2. Allow Arch to play comfortably within the pocket, cleaning up the mechanical issues we saw due to a sped up internal clock. 3. Provide opportunities for routes downfield to develop and come open downfield, something th…

Weren't we expecting too much from the Texas offense vs OSU? Only one returning starter on Oline. Only 3 of top recievers from last year. New TE to replace Helm. A RB returning from triple knee ligament damage. A QB with the weight of the world (so to speak) with Only two starts (against far inferior teams) to his name. And a playcaller who is inept inside the opponents 20 yard line. We expected too much vs a traditional supreme program with consistent higher regarded D. And led by a brand new DC with deep NFL experience. We'll improve a lot before Florida. 🤘

We discussed this today on Coffee and Football, but Dave Campbell’s Texas football surveyed about 50 kids anonymously. The graphic I made doesn’t go over all of the survey, but some key points here worth discussing imo. Longhorns commit Jermaine Bishop is named the best player in the state by his peers. Texas gets the most love when it comes to HC you want to play for the most and top facilities. Texas A&M comes away with best stadium (Texas 2nd) and best atmosphere (Texas 2nd).

where is it on offense? We are slow compared to other top teams. I am much less worried about Arch than I am about not having many playmakers around him in a league that requires it to win a championship. - Our RBs are tough but nothing dangerous. - WR? Nobody to keep you up at night. Wingo is supposed to be fast but he’s more theoretical than real until he shows it. - Return game? I think we had our two slower RBs returning kicks and Niblett for punts who’s supposed to be fast but that needs to show on the field.

A different perspective from Dan Orlovksy. Dan says it was not Arch playing poorly as much as Matt Patricia dialing up NFL concepts that Arch had never seen. It is a good 2min 30sec video. Instagram link

Thoughts on Arch Manning I have a number of thoughts on Arch Manning today …. 1. Any QB simply can’t miss the easy throws. Arch missed nearly every easy throw today. You can’t play QB at a high level, or be a high level team missing easy throws. End of discussion. 2. Some of the easy throws were also in critical down and distance. Those are double bad for a QB. Simply can’t do it against quality competition, period. 3. Ohio State is uber talented team and quality team. Statistically, this will be Arch’s worst game of the season. 4. Arch’s legs will be a major asset as the season moves along. Again, this will be as talented of a D as Texas faces…

AUSTIN, Texas — Steve Sarkisian opened his press conference on Monday, more than 48 hours after Texas kicked off the 2025 season with a 14-7 road loss to Ohio State, with his thoughts after reviewing the game. Sarkisian’s film study confirmed that the Longhorns left too many yards, opportunities and points on the field at the Horseshoe to avenge their College Football Playoff semifinal loss to the Buckeyes in January. A streak of 24 consecutive games forcing at least one turnover was snapped (a 34-30 loss to Oklahoma in 2023 was the last game in which the Texas defense failed to record a takeaway). Three penalties charged to the defense (illegal hands to th…

Do you feel great about your offense? They won and didn’t turn it over, so they get to avoid the introspective conversations we’re having. But did they not sputter just as much as we did? Statistically it seems they did. To the victor goes the spoils. Maybe they’re more easily able to chalk it up to Texas being the best defense they’re likely to face this season. Contrary to us, they handled business just enough to make it out clean and with the dub.

I hoped to get to this on Coffee and Football this morning, but we just didn't have time. CBS Sports released their CFP projections and has the Longhorns facing off against Texas Tech in the first round. The winner of that game would play LSU.
